    Thinking of a 586 4" (New Version)

I'm very happy with my 586-8 Classic 4". Most accurate revolver I own. I like the stock target grips and find that the L-frame's weight soaks up a lot of recoil.

    Cylinder shot ring clean up

Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads & Hoppe's No. 9 take the burn rings off easily enough. But they surely do come back next time you shoot.

    Loaded Moon Clip Storage

I use the same Flambeau Model 4007-1 plastic cases for 45 ACP moon clip storage. They hold 24 loaded 6-round clips (144 rounds) and are available in the fishing section at our local Walmart for less than $4.00 each. Quite a bargain.

    Red-dot sight on my 586-8

Three MOA, and it's working fine for me. Most of my shooting is at paper targets from 10 to 25 yards.

    Red-dot sight on my 586-8

At 70+ years of age, my vision has deteriorated, and although it still corrects to 20-20 with bifocal glasses, I find it difficult to focus on the front sights of my S&W 625-8 and 586-8 revolvers. I recently got prescription shooting glasses with the left lens focused to infinity and right (my...
