Thanks BT ..I have cleaned the gun with brake cleaner and lightly lubed. That said I see your point, possibly dirt behind the small step at the top of the sear. To do that, release the mainspring, the whole hammer will come out?

Hondo....Attached is a pic of my gun all looks well. The sear deflects backwards and the trigger doesn't grab it. If I pull the hammer back ever so slightly the sear will grab it. My though is the hammer rest to far forward after shot? Looking for any help!! Thanks!! Kurt

Hello all, I have a 38SW modified to 38spl Victory. The hammer will not cock in double action. I've pulled the side plate, cleaned and lubed. It looks to me like the hammer stops to far forward for the sear to catch an pull the trigger back. I don't really see any wear. Can anyone enlighten me...

Victory found at Grandpas house. Hello all... I recently got a Victory from my Grandfathers attic. Don't know much about it. 38 S&W possibly modified to 38Spl. Not sure. How can I tell? Also double action does not work. Can anyone start to educate me on this gun and it's issue? Thanks in advance.
