    Thanks for the replies. SN is 441,5XX so it is well passed the antique cutoff. I do like the looks of the 6" barrel; that's probably why I bought it. I figured the pearl grips were not from factory, but they fit great and are heavy.

    I have read that before in a book. But why do they think it was a costume company instead of Western Cartridge company "W.C. Co" that was a big ammo company that later merged with Winchester? Western would have firearms of many different makes/models for testing their ammo. And marked them...
