Removing corroded batteries from a flashlight

Perhaps I'll take the hit someday. I currently use between 130 and 260 AA batteries annually, depending. I use Duracell with no issues going on since Oct 2022. these are all outdoors in trail cameras. Currently have 17 active cameras with 2 in reserve.

Finally got the weed eater running!!!

My little Kawi 4-wheeler was running crappy (needed to be on full choke) and leaking gas into the oil. It had a bad seat which was pressed in. Could have drilled it out, etc. This was 2 years ago. I purchased a 19.00 carb online which came with fuel lines, gaskets, clips, air cleaner. Had both...

    New trigger issue

Their basic single-stage, curved trigger, 3.5 lb pull is regularly on sale at Palmetto, Primary Arms, etc for under 100.00. Good trigger. Typically a 24 hour sale. It's best to get on their mailing list to receive a heads up. After getting the trigger, you can always unsubscribe.

    New trigger issue

Sounds similar to a problem I had with one of my ARs. Later I learned it was not all that uncommon. The remedy was to remove some material from the RA cassette housing. If yours has the bottom tensioning screws, make sure they are set according to factory specs (made no difference on my RA-140)...

What is wrong with people today?

Perhaps those outside took a quick look, saw a "bum" and, did an about face. I highly doubt that many would not assist an individual in need.

    New Trigger?

LOL. Old thread but.... I believe my initial pull on my Hiperfire 24C was around a spit over 1 lb and under 1.5. After having fired thousands of rounds in the past 8 years or so, I tested it (along with others) with both my digital and older mechanical gauges. The best I can determine is...

MP Sport 2 pivot pin trouble

You could grind on a baby's butt and likely cause no harm with a Cratex. Regarding "removing" the finish, so what? Finish is removed on many parts on weapons that are used to no detriment. A small amount of lube on pins should be sop. No problem with "Aluminum is soft and you're likely removing...

MP Sport 2 pivot pin trouble

I've had a few do that over the years. Some a little and others really bad. I always "polish" the openings with assorted coarseness of silicone rotary tool attachments. I prefer Cratex brand but I guess any brand might be ok. I use those shaped like a bullet. The silicone - based abrasives are...

    Sandwich Experimenting

Decades ago my boss would bring in a sizeable jar of pickled beef tongue. We'd eat it on crackers with brown mustard, hot sauce, or creamy horse radish. Loved it. Looked just like dense roast beef.

    Changing times

I have found after talking with deputy buddies of mine when the county went from analog to digital comms, some appreciated "help" quickly disappeared. The rural public were near addicted to manning their scanners both at home and work. The "eyes and ears" of the community as some put it. With...

    Tragedy near Kerrville

Though it seems society has chosen to put so many daily tasks, grinds, and responsibilities on others, it's the parents duty to research and research again where you're sending your children to camp, recreation locations, etc. Research is so much more than "it's a church camp" or "nothing's ever...

    Sandwich Experimenting

Made some great Reubens yesterday to include whipping up some Russian dressing. I use Kewpie mayo in the dressing. Regarding canned fish, I eat them near daily for lunch. Sardines, smoke - flavored salmon, smoked herring, etc. open and drain the can, hit 'em with some hot sauce, pile them on 4...
