Sorry, can't help with the 565 gr., but Veral Smith has an section on load development without any data in his book "Jacketed Performance with Cast Bullets." I've used his methods with success for many calibers, including a 500 gr. load for my own John Ross 500.

Another vote each for the 5" John Ross and factory 6.5" models.

I have both the half-lug 6 1/2" and the PC John Ross 5." With optics, they will both shoot 1" groups at 25 yards off of a rest. With irons, I can shoot the same with the 6 1/2" but not quite with the 5." I attribute this to the latter's heavy SA trigger pull (4 3/4 lbs). The 6 1/2" has a SA...
