Hit the Motherlode for Range Brass!

I was going to buy some 38 short colt brass to try in my new 8 shot revolver...but the Brass Gods came through. As I was testing some loads for the new pistol at my local range a shooter asked if I saved 38 special brass. I ended up with 500 once fired Winchester 38's which I trimmed to 38...

    9mm cast

Using Power Pistol the 147 grain Missouri Bullet grouped better then the 124 grain in my XDM 5.25. I've had no leading problems...no failures to feed or eject and no miss fires after approximately 4500 rounds. I did some load testing and backed the recommended 4.1 grains starting load off to...

    9mm cast

Lyman's cast bullet handbook gives a starting load of 5.0 grains of Power Pistol for both 120 grain RN and 124 grain CN and a max load of 5.6 for the 120's and 5.5 for the 124's. I've have very good results with Power Pistol in both 9mm and 45acp. In the 9mm I'm using a 147 grain bullet and...

    627 Pro Blew Me Away

Factory loads...hand loads...different bullets...different powder....357 or 38 special...my 627 pro shoots them all into a ragged hole. It doesn't stay in the safe very long because it's always being shot. Best money I've spent in a long time. Should buy another as a back up.

    686 P replacement cylinder

I had a similar problem after having an action job done on my 686....light strikes on double action but not on single action. Had a extended firing pin installed and the problem went away.

    Tite Group and cast bullets

Bought a pound of Tite Group the other day to try because Clays has been hard to find. For 38 special the Lyman pistol loading manual suggests 2.9 to 3.6 grains for a 158 or 160 grain cast bullet. The Hodgdon Powder can lists 3.8 grains for a 158 grain LSWC. I know....start low and work...

    627 pro??

Redhawk500 Check out TK Custom or Revolver Supply on line or call them for all your moonclip needs. They are more than willing to answer all your questions. I got the moonclip loader from Revolver Supply and mounted it on a small piece of Cherry wood to make it a little more convenient and used...

    627 pro??

I can reload my 627 in competition with moon clips...shooting 38 special R/N bullets as fast as changing mags in my 1911. I've had no experience with the 625...it should be faster...fewer holes to fill and shorter in overall length. Remington, Federal and Star line brass will need thicker moon...

    Power Pistol, whoda thunk it?

Power Pistol is my favorite for 45acp...very accurate. I just started working up some loads for the 38 special with cast bullets and it shows promise.

    Range Is Not Clear!

You can spread Blame and Responsibility around like butter....everyone shooting in that squad should be looking down range and call a Cease Fire if they see a Safety Issue of any kind. Be aware and Be Safe...accidents don't happen...somewhere somebody screwed up !

    627, 357 - 8 shot

You don't need to use moon clips in your 627. It all depends on what your plans are for your new toy. If you use or plan to use moon clips leave the ones that came with your 627 in the box and use either TK Custom or Revolver Supply moon clips...they are a superior product. You will have to...

    686 .357 moon clips

I don't have any experience with the BMT moon clip loader although I understand it is an excellent tool. I instead purchased the Deluxe moon clip tool through Revolver Supply because I only have to change arbors when I switch from my 686+ to my 627. The difference between $5 and $80 buys a lot...
