Factory loads...hand loads...different bullets...different powder....357 or 38 special...my 627 pro shoots them all into a ragged hole. It doesn't stay in the safe very long because it's always being shot. Best money I've spent in a long time. Should buy another as a back up.

I had a similar problem after having an action job done on my 686....light strikes on double action but not on single action. Had a extended firing pin installed and the problem went away.

Bought a pound of Tite Group the other day to try because Clays has been hard to find. For 38 special the Lyman pistol loading manual suggests 2.9 to 3.6 grains for a 158 or 160 grain cast bullet. The Hodgdon Powder can lists 3.8 grains for a 158 grain LSWC. I know....start low and work...

I can reload my 627 in competition with moon clips...shooting 38 special R/N bullets as fast as changing mags in my 1911. I've had no experience with the 625...it should be faster...fewer holes to fill and shorter in overall length. Remington, Federal and Star line brass will need thicker moon...

Power Pistol is my favorite for 45acp...very accurate. I just started working up some loads for the 38 special with cast bullets and it shows promise.

You can spread Blame and Responsibility around like butter....everyone shooting in that squad should be looking down range and call a Cease Fire if they see a Safety Issue of any kind. Be aware and Be Safe...accidents don't happen...somewhere somebody screwed up !

You don't need to use moon clips in your 627. It all depends on what your plans are for your new toy. If you use or plan to use moon clips leave the ones that came with your 627 in the box and use either TK Custom or Revolver Supply moon clips...they are a superior product. You will have to...
