Recently got a 360 M&P that occasionally wouldn't fire factory ammo on the first strike. Reloads some wouldn't fire after 4-6 hits even. Instead of returning to S&W I put in a C&S extended firing pin. Would have gotten the Apex if I had known the C&S you can't dry fire without snap caps.

Found a ported 6"'ish 629-5 for $550.
Looks to be in pretty good shape. Says 629 Classic on one side of the barrel. DA trigger is like butter. In full lockup the cylinder does not move front to back, side to side is barely perceptable. Cylinder gap looks fine.
No box or paperwork. No lock...
Well dangit! Time to talk to the ebay seller.
So then if they were really J Frame grips, they wouldn't work either because I have a magnum J frame?
Were there any old style wood grips that would fit my 360 M&P?
In trying to get old style, thinner wood grips for my 360M&P I bougt a set off Ebay that I thought would work. They don't. Can someone tell me what I did get? Where did I go wrong? Do any old J Frame grips fit a 360M&P?
Pic of what I got:
Thanks for the help folks. C&S extended firing pin arrived. The gun fires every time now with factory and reloads.
While I had the side plate off I did an action job, my first. A lot of old threads on this site and others helped make it easy. The trigger is much smoother now.
Sadly I did do a...
What is Apex? I just ordered a Cylinder and Slide extended firing pin from Brownells. Is there something better about the Apex one?
I'm curious, if I have to replace the firing pin anyway why would I send it to S&W?
Left is the factory fired brass, middle is my fired 357, right is struck 3 times and failed to fire.
So if you have to send it back to S&W do they slick up action or do anything nice for you?
I'm seriously considering getting the extended firing pin so I know my reloads will fire every...
First time shooting a brand new M&P 360 and some rounds do not go off. Factory rounds I had 2 that went click.
Reloaded .357mag rounds with WSP (Winchester Small Pistol) primers had a very high failure rate, 2 were hit at least 3 times and still won't go off.
Dimples are very slight compared...
