Really getting tired of other people's entitlement attitudes.

As a fellow Washingtonian, I can sympathize with what you're saying. HOWEVER, having lived 29 years in the Puget Sound area, and spent quite a lot of time in Vancouver & Portland, I think I have a right to hold and express an informed opinion about both. Unfortunately, that opinion has been very...

Guns of TV character Rick Hunter

I apologize if this comes across as nit-picking, but... The Astra Terminator 44 magnum, a John Jovino special, had a 2-3/4" barrel (not a 3" barrel). Just sayin'...

    Snubby Kit Gun

Yeah, I have a High Standard Double 9. Fun old revolver. I like that it looks like an old single-action cowboy gun, but actually shoots double action.

    Surprise Gunbroker Win

AHH, I see. You're in the cat-bird's seat. You probably get first crack at used guns, and probably a discount too! I'm jealous!

    The UGLY Brazilian

Yeah these old girls may not be the prettiest gal at the dance, but they can still cut a rug!

    Snubby Kit Gun

Nice! My snubby kit gun is a 34-1, and the only thing I would change about it is make it an 8 or 9 shot instead of just 6.

How modern Colt Pythons are made

The frames of both are forged. I'm sure the barrels of both are machined from bar stock since they aren't simple round barrels that can be hammer-forged. The cylinders and extractors of both are machined from bar stock - though the Manuhurins cylinders & extractors are machined together as an...

    Model 41 problem, sort of...

Interesting. I've seen a LOT of posts and photos of bulged barrels in this and other gun forums over the years, but I don't recall ever seeing one about a 22LR before. I always figured that was because the cartridge shoots such light bullets with such small powder charges. OTOH, a lot of 22LR...

    Surprise Gunbroker Win

Holy CATS! 10.2% is outrageous! When I looked for the highest sales tax rate in the US the top 5 were Louisiana Tennessee Arkansas Washington Alabama Louisiana shows a rate of 10.16% - so I'm guessing that's where you live. FWIW, the price on a gun varies widely - depending on the area where...

Visited Battlefield where G-G Grandfather was Captured in Civil War

My GGG Grandfather was scooped up and conscripted into the Confederate army in SE Missouri. Not sure what unit or anything. Only that both armies were "drafting" every eligible male as they marched through and the Rebs got to him first. As the story goes, he survived the war, drew a small...

    Model 41 problem, sort of...

First time I've ever heard of a 22 with a bulged barrel. That must have taken some doing...

    Sandwich Experimenting

We always have a 1-pound ziplock bag of bacon bits from Costco in the freezer. I thought about making my sandwich with those, but since I could cook 3 strips of bacon in the microwave while I was grilling the bread & cheese in a skillet on the stove, I decided it was worth the little bit of...

Agreed 100%. A good scrub with bronze wool and oil and it will look a LOT better.

    Surprise Gunbroker Win

Not trying to be argumentative, but just curious, how did you come up with $150 in taxes and fees? My state has one of the highest combined state and local sales tax rates in the country (8.9% - which is on par with CA) and they even charge tax on the shipping. We also have a $18 transfer/FFL...

    WWII mystery. .38 S&W revolver

When I zoom in tight on that spot the photo gets a bit grainy, so it is certainly possible that there could be a small mark there. Your suggestion of a more close-up high-res photo would be the only way to tell for sure without having it in hand.
