Update. I went this evening to get the 9mm Pro but both were sold in the last few days............So now I'm going to hit the gun show here this weekend and see if I can't find one there. If not then I will be buying a 9mm range kit.

Mainly this gun will be for protection. I won't be doing alot of target shooting except for just practicing. This will also be my concealed weapon.

Yes the short grip is fine because I have small hands. That was the first thing I noticed about .40 M&P compact I looked at. I loved the way it fit in my hand.
