629 PC for sale in northern CA *SPF*

Are the pictures not appearing? I see them from my side... 7.5" barrel, it is a 629-8 so it is equipped with the lock, which I have only operated once to see what the fuss was about. It has never intruded on my shooting since.

    Bipod for my 500S&W 10.5"

Lighter bullets with less shank length in the case are more susceptible to pulling. Look at your expander and adjust it to the bare, BARE minimum to start a bullet without shaving the sides in the seater. I assume you're not skimping on the sizing step. Neck tension is what I'm getting at. Do...

    6.5 S&W 500 What is your opinion

Reloading is a must with big bores. That said, reloading the 500 allows for much greater performance envelope over the 460. I can push 300grain FTX bullets from my 5" barrel at 2000fps or 600s at 1200fps. The gun is a John Ross edition 500. No comp, 1:10 twist, 0.0035 B/C gap. That tight gap...

    Performance Center 629 WTT

I have a "Light Hunter" model 629 that I really enjoy, but I'd prefer a shorter barrel for packing. I have the complete package, Hogue and rosewood stocks, aluminum combo lock PC case, scope rail. About 1400 rounds through it. Nothing over 250 grains. Throats measure out to 0.4285. Tight...

500 COMPENSATOR COMPARED TO MUZZLE BRAKE

Potay-to potah-to. Muzzle brakes on handguns are much more effective at making your sinuses and ears irritated than reducing recoil. The 500 is a very powerful gun, don't buy it if you can't ride the wave.

    500 special

The dies needed to forge a new frame are expensive. Why not just call Bill and Leona Bramlett at Ballistic Supply and order the 300 gr XTP defense load. That or the 350 grain reduced target load are just what you describe.

Model 29 cannot handle .44 Mag?

Super Redhawk in .454 with 7.5" barrel = 53oz John Ross 5" 500 riding in primo Ken Null leather on a Simply Rugged belt from Rob Leahy = 57oz Smoothness, style, toughness, pointability and versatility for that 4oz premium = priceless. Take that Lord Humongus X frame and put a Titanium...

Can you imagine "S&W X-frame only" 44 mag loads. The Ruger guys would be irritated.

    S&W 500 Picture Thread - A visual reference

For a little scale: Single Six, 629 Light Hunter and the John Ross 500. The Tupperware in the top is the non-magnum homeland defense bottom feeder. :p Uploaded with ImageShack.us"] Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/URL]

    Powder markings on .44 Mag.

Those are the marks of quality. Embrace them, show them off. It proves you don't sit around with polish and a terry towel, talking about guns all the time.

EVERYONE must shoot a 500 magnum once!!!

The web between the thumb and index finger is what takes the brunt, at least with the Hogues. I don't mind shooting <450grain bullets at <1200 fps without gloves, when you start pushing the 465+ bullets faster then even the Hogues aren't that much help. I looked at a bunch of specialized...
