Back in the mid 80s, when I first started getting into shooting, I can remember old timers.. ie guys who were shooting in the 20s and 30s. They all equated .32 WCF to "hot" .32 NP. This was back when .38 SPC was the bees knees and the gold standard. .357 wasn't really a known thing yet, and...
Agreed. In 24 years i saw plenty of things that still make me upset. I wanted to weep, react in rage or crawl into a bottle sometimes. This was one funny anecdote. For every funny one there are 3-4 others that weren't funny and frankly I don't want to think about anymore.
Crimes against kids...
Actually after we got on our way it was more like "WTF was that?!"
The worst part was writing up the reports afterwards. Every little detail had to be noted professionally and checked in triplicate. After we got off shift I can tell you we made some comments....
Friday is the last day of a really nice young lady that I work with. Dispite the challenges that face those who wear the badge in this current world, she has decided to follow a career in law enforcement. God bless her. Not sure i could do it again. I spent 19 years with another 5 in reserve...
To me, .32 SW long is the revolver round equivalent to .380 for semi autos. The defensive loads are JUST big enough to be reasonably effective, but its small enough and with light enough recoil to be helluva fun round for target shooting and blinking.
I have had a Colt Official Police made in...
These both came from a random pawnshop stop. The 14-3 has one of the lightest and smoothest triggers that I have ever handled. When I started in law enforcement back in 1987, many old guys still carried these. Has some holster wear but a great bore. SN K962XXX.
The 31-1 is minty- SN 745XXX with...
I bought a NOS 1976 Lawman MkIII (same as the trooper except fixed sights and no ejector rod housing) about 10 years ago. Is it a python? No. Its it a tank of a revolver that is every bit on par with the Ruger contemporaries of its time such as the Service Six? you bet. The trigger on mine is...
I was in law enforcement for 20 years. I live in Colorado (aka California east) where in October our Newsom puppett Gov started a 3-day wait. At least if you have a CCW permit there, its waived. No one is exempt here except LE. I can tell you if someone is intent on killing themselves or others...
I picked up this blued New Departure today, finish, bore and grips are very nice, has a touch of muzzle wear (I just put some ballistol on it hence the spotty spots) I'm betting this was a sock-drawer gun for most of its life. Serial number is 99571. I dont know a tremendous amount about these-...
As per request, finish is at about 95% grips match to gun. Hammer has been bobbed leaving just enough of the checkering to thumb the hammer if you wanted. I owned a model 10 years ago that had the same treatment. Pawn shop find, paid just north of $475 out the door. No idea how much these go for...
I recently picked up a Model 36 Chiefs Special Sn 5759XX
I understand J frame serial numbers from the 60s can be a bit dodgy to pin down exactly- the pistol has the "thumb" type latch so its post 66- I am guessing its about 1967 vintage?
Yes sir. Its honestly a nostaglia thing with me. The big Motorola brick radios, Crown Vic crusiers and side handle batons. All things of a bygone era. I left LE in 2006 to persue a career in the private sector. I'm pushing 58 now. and even with the way things are now, I still miss it at times. I...
