I've used Redding and Dillon crimp dies on the Dillon 550 for quite a long time. Both highly recommended. Others seem to like Lee crimp dies. Take your pick.

For small charges like 9mm, be careful with 700-X and the 550. Several cases with 4 or so grains and then one with almost none. It performs well with 122 gr cast and 125 gr FMJ, but don't get caught with an empty case and squibs. Larger charge weights might be more reliable.

Dillon pistol dies that include crimp dies. Always prefer to seat and crimp with separate operations. On the 550. RCBS sets pair with Redding crimp dies.

I still have some Penn .358 and.429 that I purchased directly at a near-Pittsburgh, PA gun show years ago. Fine accuracy with all power levels.

Try 231 or 2400 or BlueDot with 158 gr SWC. I use good hard cast .359" from Moyers with great results in my 686 6" and 6" Blackhawk.

IMO 44 magnum is just that, magnum. My 30 year old RSBHB is the most accurate wheel gun I have with 240 or 310 grain cast, Federal 155 LPM and H 110 / W 296. Plinking is for 38 Special and perhaps medium .357 with 158 grain and Unique.
