    Mt Gun vs Model 18

That's a shooter/collector question. As a shooter, between 18 and 48 any dash, I consider how often will I will shoot it. Ammo cost for the 48 discourages a high round count. If your primary purpose for a rimfire revolver is casual plinking or transition training to a center fire CM, go for...

    Mt Gun vs Model 18

My serious rimfire revolvers are a 6" 48-2 and a 4" 63 no dash. Years ago I shot my best friends 18 quite a bit. The .22 CM has slowly worked it's way to the top of my "gotta get me one" list. When I find mine, it won't be going anywhere.

Its a .41 magnum kinda day

I've had a 58 since the early 80s, and picked up a 6" No Dash 57 a few years ago. Everyone needs at least 1.

    Model 625-2 recent purchase

Beautiful examples guys! I really regret a 3" 625 I let go in the early 90s.

    The kit gun

Try Ergo's Delta grip. The J frame round butt answer for MY big ol' hands. They are strange looking and Glock ugly, but they turned my Js into great shooters.

Inherited model 60-7. Looking for DOB please

Though I don't see BFI listed, close BF prefixes show as 1990. Others may have more specific information.

    M10 3"?

I cant answer your question, but can assure you that a 3" RB HB M13 will make you very happy.

    Can I get help identifying?

Welcome from Northern IL. "First Change" just means that your revolver incorporates the first engineering change (product impovement) after S&Ws original Hand Ejector (swing out cylinder) design dating from the late 1800s. I believe that change included adding the cylinder latch. Others with...

    Just something I'm contemplating

About 10 years ago, after years of searching, I found a 3" M13. Soon after, I foolishly sold my 4". Last year I replaced it. Believe me, the one I sold long ago brought less than the one I bought last year. There's no rule against having two.

How do you actually enjoy a Magnum caliber revolver?

First, you need rubber grips that fit your hands. While S&W Target grips are more comfortable than Magnas, at least for me, nothing beats rubber for soaking up recoil. I shoot mostly reduced velocity target loads in .357 and .41, but with the right grips 50 rounds of magnums in either caliber...

    Help me pick a .357

Sounds like some form of 686 for you. I have 7 Smith .357s: 1 J, 1 N, 2 Ls & 3 Ks. I don't "need" that many, but I love them all. I prefer the blue finish but my stainless models get more range time. My understanding is that if you stick with heavy bullets, the old school K frames are fine...

Asking for a friend - really! Dragoon model - 1850s?

I had a pair of the .36 Navy arms imports in the early 80s, while under the influence of Josey Wales. Big smelly fun. We fought "duels" with them. 2 guys side by side, 10 rards from 2 bowling pins, muzzles up. On a verbal command we'd open fire. First pin down won. Go home and watch a western.

    Force-on-force training?

When I carry a semiautomatic there is always a round chambered. I have learned something valuable in every class I've ever taken, but force on force training has been the most eye opening for me. I practice regularly with a like minded local group. I train whenever I have the opportunity...

I have read about those, but was unaware of a US made batch. Let us know how it shoots.
