I think you may have lost your extractor and plunger spring if the plunge just fell out, its kept in under tension between the two.

Have you actually tried firing it? - Problem > see next step. No Problem > continue to use. Try gentle bending the rails and try shooting again - Problem > Send it back to S&W. No problem > continue to use.

200y with a .22lr is a pretty big ask for a semi-auto like a 15-22. Although I don't like their red-dots, Vortex telescopic sights are nice and something like a 1-6x Strike Eagle is fairly cheap, especially in the US. They also have a no questions asked free replace/repair guarantee.

I have a Holosun 503c on my 15-22 and a 515CM on my Typhoon F12, they are great sights.

I had (and still have) an original Ultrashot QD which at one time or another has been on a .22lr, 9mm, .223 and 12g shotgun. They are excellent red dots for the money. There's quite a bit of blue tinge to the glass but other than that i've no complaints. I'd have no issues putting one on a 15-22.

Have a look on the picture thread to see all the gun tart bits you can add. Internally its probably just the volquartsen extractor, even though that isn't NEEDED in most cases, and whatever trigger is your preference. The factory one isn't bad to be honest, that also doesn't NEED to be replaced...

If you're going to be clamping your thumb over the top of the handguard the slimmer profile grip is likely the better option unless you have really big hands.

Not sure why an ejector would cause a failure-to-fire? Unless it was bent so far up it was rubbing on the bottom of the bolt enough to slow it down so that it wasn't chambering the round properly? 1/ Have you tried different/a variety of ammo? 2/ Have you reinstalled the VQ barrel to see if it...

Have you tried the older mags in the new gun? Some new mags (over here anyway) now have a rib along the back and it stops them dropping free. If its that just sand/file it off and you'll be back in business.

From the symptoms described my immediate thought would under-powered ammo but if you've tried CCI mini-mag that would rule that out. Could you post a picture of either side of the lower receiver (the part the grip attaches to). If either the hammer or trigger pins are misaligned or even...
