I really like this Crimson Trace Laserguard LG-489 for my 9MM Shield. I'm SERIOUSLY considering purchasing one for myself. I'll stick with the "red" laser type since the LG-489g (green laser) is ridiculously priced at the moment.
My only "concern" is the activation button under the trigger...
Great insight and thoughts on this subject. I appreciate the feedback. I think after reading this I'll stick with the 9MM Shield as a defensive carry and if I go with a .40 it'll be a larger frame pistol due to the snappy recoil that you guys state with a DC size.
Again, thanks for the insight...
This may have been addressed in an another forum post, but I know on the M&P FS and M&P compacts you can go from a .40 to a 9MM.
My question is, can you do the same on a .40 Shield?
Much thanks for all the responses. I personally shoot 9MM mostly. I've shot a .40 with a relative's Taurus...
And make sure it's a LC9 S...new striker fire Ruger just came out with...don't waste your money on the old double action LC9 or LCP 380...you'll HATE IT!!!
But my preference would be to go with either the Shield (carry in a holster) or the Bodyguard (if you wanna pocket carry)...
Hey all...I've been going back and forth between carrying a 9MM vs carrying a .40.
I wanted to get your thoughts on why you carry what you do if you carry either of these calibers. I know the main thing is hitting your target regardless of what you shoot, but I wanted to hear some personal...
SA is a great brand and nothing against anyone who owns one.
However, I can't see why SA came out with a XDs 9MM 4.0 to justify going from the 3.3. Why? It added nearly 3/4" to the overall length of this 9MM making it along the lines of compact gun rather than a conceal carry. Aesthetically...
The only Kel-Tec I'll consider purchasing is the PMR30. Saw a guy shoot one at the range and it's a beast. 30 round .22 magnum...it was a nice piece.
I agree, the Sig P238 would definitely be an upgrade from the BG380 and is in a league of its own. Most Sigs are an upgrade to be honest. I...
Yes, I agree 1000% on the LCP380 looking like a toy out of a cereal box. And as for the sights, I don't even know why they even put sights on it. That gun, by far has to be the worst .380acp pocket pistol out there. No offense to anyone who has one. Just doesn't come off as a reliable self...
Just bought my wife this pistol for her birthday last week. We went shooting this past Sunday. There were a couple of things I noticed. Nothing major and nothing S&W won't take care of:
1. - We shot 106 rounds through the gun. Twice on the last shot in the mag with the little extension, the...
Well considering it is a pocket 380acp and strictly a self defense firearm, I'm not really concerned about the trigger pull. You think the BG380 trigger is bad? Pull a Ruger LCP380. HORRIBLE!!!
Yes, it's long. Yes, you can buy a mod from Galloway. But considering what the gun is actually...
Greetings from good old Kentucky. Just wanted to say hey guys and gals. Nice forum here and I plan to visit frequently to hopefully learn and maybe even teach some things about our love for S&W and firearms in general!

I wonder if those that have the BG380 with the Insight Laser can change it to the CT laser?? I'm sure it's the same frame right? I can't find one yet to look in the frame after field strip that has the CT laser. Hmmm. May have to call S&W about that. May not even be...
