Yes there is a lanyard ring. I didn't look all that close at it as I was trolling for another 1917. got home and thought I might need another 38 S&W caliber gun. I should have paid more attention to it and look for more info. I be back tomorrow and look a lot closer at it.

Caliber 38 S&W barrel length 4" or 4 1/4 ( didn't measure it ), Finish Parkerized, S/N V43.xxx, plain walnut wood grips. I didn't look that good at it and didn't think that much about it until I got home and thought about the caliber, 38 S&W. I have a few S&W in 38 S&W and thought I might add...

Were all U.S. issued 1917's parkerized ? Does this make them more or less desirable.

Saw a nice model 1917 today at the gun show. Stamped U.S. Army, tight lock up, parkerzed, nice piece. He was asking $900.00 said he would take $800.00. I have seen them on the internet from $450.00 to $1500.00. No pictures to send but what would be a fair price with this limited info. A like...

I have what I believe is a S&W 38-32 Terrier in 38 S&W s/n 687xx. All numbers match on the barrel, butt cylinder and grips. I think it was built around 1958 and just curious about it's worth. Thanks in advance.

Thanks all for the information. Maybe I'll see if I can find the right grips for it or I might just leave it like it is. I'm not a vintage S&W collector but I do have a few nice K and N frame Smiths. Again thanks all for the help. I just might start looking a little harder for some older S&W's

Thanks, I thought I had read somewhere that they are sometimes found with extended square grips But could never find a picture of the grips to see what they were talking about.
