The Ammo with the best stopping power may not be the best for home defense.

I guess also what type of structure you live in. Out here in Oklahoma there are mostly brick homes so a bullet would have to go thru drywall insulation and then about 6-10 inches of brick to get out, unless it goes thru a window of course. Now if its a mobile home..... Also, what about noise...

    S&W 617 or Colt Diamondback 22

I agree on the 686 SSR. I have one and it shoots so much better then my semi-autos and I seem to be more accurate. I am not going to get rid of my M&P just yet but would like a 22 revolver but the costs are keeping me from getting a 617.

Flashmobs are gaining in frequency. What to do?

Consider this, would you say the riots in Chicago in 1968 were like a flash mob today? Because whether you will admit it or not this is what its building to. Civil unrest slowly beginning and expanding can give a govt, ours or anyones, the excuse to use large numbers of police, military or...

Pointing shooting and the M& P 9 mm

Was reading some blogs on this point shooting and even tried it out the last time at the range and was very impressed. I know this subject seems to be in the same vein as which is best 9mm or 45acp. I just simply pointed the top of the slide at the target and fired away and my grouping were...

    Cardboard Again?

They both can be recycled but I don't see throwing away a plastic box made to put a gun in. By the way, trees grow back. I have got some of those fed ex type boxes and they stack pretty good. What I need is some kind of box or something to keep all the cleaning stuff I seem to use or just drag...

    Cardboard Again?

The blue cases may costs more that the cardboard but are a renewable resource for sure. However, my problem might be if you have to send your gun back to SW in that cardboard box. The plastic can take a lot of abuse, not sure if a paper type box can. Fed EX has been using boxes for a long...

What is the best for hearing protection?

Hey thanks for all the replys..I have been using the Leightning L3 outside but with the plugs inside. The wife uses the Leight electronic muffs and plugs. The plugs we uses don't go in the canal. You roll them in a ball and just cover the opening, not stick them in the canal...They heat up...
