I had trr8 about 10yrs ago. I liked the way it shot but it kept spitting back into my face every single shot. I brought it to a gunsmith to look at it to check timing and cylinder gap but he said everything checked out. Every single shot felt like I was getting pelted in the face with rock salt...
I feel like they release special designated models often enough that it takes away from their actual value. The limited/special editions don’t excite me at all….BUT then I am born and raised in New Mexico. We rarely see much in the industry that will reach as far as our state!
wow…these are excellent examples of 686’s. I was collecting the 586 and 386 side of things before wi moved onto the 686’s. These pictures sure make me itch…in a good way. Do they make a blued or dlc 686 pro I wonder?
Unfortunately there is nothing but dusty, sandy places to shoot. In fact, it’s windy too. I think I will try the combination of suggestions. Wipe it, spray it, rest it and let it drip before wiping again. Thank you for the suggestions!
For some reason I recall that you don’t lube the internals because it will attract particles that will eventually gum everything up. Suppose I haven’t researched much lately but this was what I thought was a huge deal 20yrs ago.
For reference, I have visited the first page of the “best gunsmiths/revolver smiths” in my state and I’ve read through ALL their reviews to qualify said “smiths”. I’ve found that all of them either have very little care or experience working with revolvers.
