    Old Century/New Century

Beautiful guns iby. Here is my version of the old vs the new. I love the mottled grips on the blued guns from the 1800's. Tried to duplicate the look on a modern version. I like the look of the old one better.

Bike gun add in new Journal

It might be the highest condition 1 1/2" gun out there. Blue with the pearls is beautiful. What is the rarest barrel length, 1 5/8"? Other rare lengths are 2 1/2" and 2 1/4"

Platinum Front Sight on Target 32-44

In doing some research on the early 32-44 revolver I came across this piece of info. I have posted it before but never paid attention to what it said the front sight bead was made from. This info is from the "Broadfoot Publishing Company" reprint of "The Rifle" which was originally published by...

New Departure 1st Model - factory or refinished?

It does not look like a factory refinish. I would say its a later refinish because of the heavy buffing. Nice looking revolver

    320 Revolving Pistol

Mike, You are correct. I got the old main spring out because of the broken side. Now how do I get a new one in and hooked up the the hammer? Needed an extra set of hands and got everything put back together. Replaced a few of the screws too. Used parts from a NM3 Target in 32-44 that I had...

Took the side plate off today. It does have the 320 Revolving Rifle hammer

Genuine bicycle revolver or cut barrel?

It has a real bicycle gun barrel. The barrel number should match the frame to make it a factory original gun

    Old ivories- help in identifying

cwneely2, interesting New Model 3 revolver. Is it a New Model 3 target revolver in 32-44 with serial number below 550? The rear target sight on your gun is scarce. About 1/2 the early New Model 3 target guns had the rear fixed target sight replaced with an adjustable one.

    320 Revolving Pistol

Thinking about Gary's comments some more. I had a gun that shipped to A. Oakley that had an early frame with a serial number in the 3,000 range that had a barrel with a short ejector housing. It factory lettered as a smoothbore gun with all matching serial numbers shipping in 1895 as one of two...

    320 Revolving Pistol

Gary, I have sent in for a letter on this one. The grips are both mottled, but very dark. I pulled them to look for a serial number but can only see someones initials. The ejector housing on the barrel is short and it does not have the metal to attach the forend of the revolving rifle. The...

    320 Revolving Pistol

The cylinder length is 1 7/16" long. I never noticed the cone on the breach side of the barrel is different on the revolving rifle. I don't have the thin blade screwdriver set yet so I can't remove the walnut from the metal to see the serial number on the metal of the stock. I thought someone...

    320 Revolving Pistol

I recently purchased this 320 Revolving Pistol. The frame, grips, cylinder, and butt stock are from a 320 Revolving Rifle. The barrel appears to be from a 32-44 with no serial number on it, just a W. The latch is serial number 20401. The gun has been worked on, but it was a long time ago...

S&W .32 CF SA Factory Case

Was reading the section in the Smith & Wesson 5th addition about the 320 revolving rifle. It mentions the butt stock was made from Circassian Walnut. The 320 Revolving rifle was made from 1879 - 1887, the 32 S&W case was made about the same time. Here is a picture of a revolving rifle stock...
