I agree with ballistic. I was in this predicament early last year and couldn't find any M&P 22 magazines. Later in the year Midway even had them on sale for less than $25. I suspect Smith and Wesson gets them in batches towards the end of the year and what we are seeing is that lot selling out...
My MP 22 has this problem with CCI Blazers. There is a about 5-10% failure to fire and then on some rounds it would fire, but the brass does not eject; the slide does not cycle and would manually extract and eject. I think one would blame this on the ammo instead of the gun, right?
I have a new 3 inch 63 that I got earlier this year. It works perfect as an understudy. It works best for 1st shot from the draw practice and weak hand practice. It was pricey, but shooting .22LR is a whole lot cheaper.

I have the same issues with my 642 with the clear coat peeling off particularly at the cylinder release and IL area. I just rub some beeswax on that area which helps. I also use a kydex IWB holster which is resistant to sweat. For me the 642 or Glock 26 has the best materials/finish for...
