Just updating with some pics of the Eotech mounted, in case anyone is contemplating a similar addition. I think it looks great, and target/sight acquisition is pretty fast compared to one eye use scopes. I think I'm going to enjoy this rifle alot!

That's always an option later on for me - but for now I don't really need one. Danged magnifiers are as much as the sight too, at least for a good quality one, from what I've read. Any recommendations on magnifiers??

That XR552X308 is quite a nice setup, but a tad more than I wanted to spend on a CQ rifle. I'll never use NV, so I opted for a lesser cost which should still be OK for my needs. I guess someday I may want the 552, but for now I'm living within [or maybe just outside?] my budget. (chuckle) AFA...

I've decided the main use is going to be defensive at close ranges (never more than 100 yards), so I'm going to try an Eotech 512 on my new rifle. Been hemming and hawing long enough. I have a scoped M1A and various scoped AR's for longer range use, and several hunting rifles for target range...

I read that too a couple of months ago. Haven't seen any of the new ones yet either. I did find some LR20's recently and I'm pretty sure the link was posted on here somewhere. Maybe do a search for PM Mags?? Never mind - it was Bayou Tactical, and they are currently sold out, but do check back...

It is the Pmag 20. Rifle came with one S&W 10 round mag, so I needed a couple of spares anyhow. I'm used to the 20's with my M1A type rifles, so it was a no brainer for me.......and I can relate to $$ shortages too! ;)

I just turned down a chunk of 1919 Browning barrel I had laying around from a chop off long ago. I guess I saw something similar somewhere, cause I'm not a designer by any means. I have a lathe and a small mill/drill so it was relatively easy to make.......

Thanks guys - I really like this rifle. I was a bit skeptical at first about buying one. I already own a couple of M1A type rifles, and wasn't sure I wanted to drop the $$ on another .308, but I'm sure glad I did!
