I've run an NC Star Mark III on my 15-22 since, forever... And I once had an issue, I emailed NC Star and they responded quickly and very professionally and offered to replace the optic or replace the part, I explained I could easily replace the part (stripped adjuster on the micro red dot)...

My friend runs that same Sightmark sight on his Bushmaster AR with no magnifier and let me tell you.... At 100 yards I wouldn't want to be running away from it.... The optic works great he's put about 500 rounds down range with it so far and zero issues.

There was this guy on here a long time ago, his name was Brett248Vista or something like that, he shot a bunch of how-to videos and put them up on Youtube. I can't speak to the quality of the 15-22 parts from Salem6 since I do not have any. But what I can do is speak to the quality of their products and service because I do have items from them. The hand guard assembly on my MKA 1919 is made by Salem6. It's made out of a super high quality...

Any coating that could be "consumer applied" will quickly come right back off. Aside from sending the parts out to have them done in DLC (Diamond Like, Hard Coating) or NiBo (Nickel Boron) I really see no point in doing anything after the trigger work. And I do concur with sgtsandman a light...

By the time a 15-22 needs a bolt or barrel replacement we will all likely be DEAD. My CBC Nylon 66 (Generic clone of the Remington Nylon66) which was made VERY cheaply compared to a 15-22 had many, many, many tens of thousands of rounds through it. I sold it back when I brought my 15-22 home...
