Reloading for almost new ''inherited model 19 advice needed

I just inherited a model 19 my father had with a 6'' barrel. It was hardly ever shot and I am hoping to hand down someday to my oldest boy. I have done some research on these and mainly what I have found that you want to stay away from light weight bullets. I am looking for the best powder...

Tumble or Ultrasonic that is the question

Walnut for cleaning and corn cob treated with nu finish and a little mineral spirits makes my brass look better than new, also use a little flitz. Sometimes I put some strips of dryer sheets in to clean up the dust that accumulates in the media. Been reloading for 40 years and have not found a...

    Best powder for S & W 686 w/4'' barrel

I have done some research on this and the M69-44 mag and the M66-357 mag use a barrel insert. It makes the gun lighter, so I assume they are using less metal. Those guns also run cheaper when buying. Cheaper in my experiences has never been better. Maybe I have been misinformed, I do not know...

    Hazmat fees

I apologize if I misled someone and I agree that was a poor statement to make.I was not saying I would do it. I was just saying you might not get caught. I have not ever been in trouble with the law. Actually I have only had 1 speeding ticket that's all. I myself would not take the chance. All I...

    Hazmat fees

Just do not tell anyone and ship it. How will they know what is in the box? Is there something I should know or am I just dishonest?

    Best powder for S & W 686 w/4'' barrel

After reading this whole thread it looks to me like 2400 would have the biggest following if shooting coated lead or XTP's. I am reconsidering the 6'' barrel over the 4'' only for a little more velocity and the longer sight radius. Good idea or not? I think I could still use 2400 but I do...

AMT Autoscale ''Someone here must have one''

I still like the auto balance beam type like my AMT. Someday I will be forced to try 1 of the newer electronic scales when mine quits working or buy a RCBS 10-10. I think the electronic scales have come a long way and I really have never seen anyone use them so I am probably missing something.

    **DAILY** In-Stock Reloading NOTICES

Powder availability reloading unlimited has most powders in stock but they run between $33 and $40 per pound + hazmet and shipping. This was on 3-1-15. Outrageous prices but I guess it depends on how bad you need it. Just sayin.

AMT Autoscale ''Someone here must have one''

I know these went out years ago but I still think they are 1 of the most accurate scales out there. You press the button and the charge meters out on a balance beam scale. While your charge comes out you can seat your bullet. No lost time. Mine has worked great for 25 years. Best part is I...

    Help ''Missouri Hi-Tek 2-Extreme Coating''

Quote:''I would question the expansion capability of powder coated bullets. I have not seen any published data, but from what I read, and what I have shot with powder coated it is more like shooting full metal jacket. Has anyone seen anything about expansion?'' That is why I decided to stay...
