Series guy, thanks for the info. I will definitely shoot it first before I do anything to it. Good to know the .430 bullets work well because I have a bunch. Thanks again everyone for the advice, I bought the gun unifier so I’m looking forward to breaking it in
Dave
Thanks everyone, I never expected them to be this tight. I will check into Alex. I have around 4000 cast bullets for other 44 specials that I shoot but nothing smaller than .430. May look for a sizing die first
Hello all, I recently picked up a model 29 Mountain Gun that has super tight cylinder throats, .430 will not go. Has anybody ran into throats this tight before? Also anybody no of anyone that opens up cylinder throats?
Dave
I have used the exact bullet you are referring to. I shoot it over a light load of W231 with a taper crimp, around 800fps. They shoot well at the speed, as others have mentioned it doesn’t do well if you try to hot rod it.
The ABC’s of Reloading that was mentioned is an excellent book to get. Read it thoroughly and then decide if reloading is for you. It takes you through the equipment and the steps involved in reloading
Hello all, I am in the process of purchasing a 21-4 TR. does anyone know what weight bullets the sights are regulated for? I have heard 200 grain but then saw an old post here where the person said they were regulated for 240 grain.
Thank you
Dave
Hello all, have been a meme her for awhile but just my second post so bare with me please. I have not purchased a new Smith revolver in a very long time, but have decided I really want a model 69. For folks who have purchased them how has the overall quality been? Are a lot going back to Smith...
Hello all, I have a question that has probably been asked so I apologize in advance. I would like to know if the m&p mags from the gen 1 will interchange with the new 2.0.
Thank you for the info, I recently lost the outdoor space that I have used to shoot for the past 15 years so I have been looking at alternate loads for indoor range use. I have never used plated or coated in any revolver so this is just a little different for me.
Thanks again
Hello folks,
I just picked up a box of Xtreme Bullets 158 gr swc, not looking for load data just curious if anybody uses these and how the accuracy is compared to cast 158's.
