    Front Sight

Decent training, pretty horrible marketing. People will still bring up very old issues like Scientology or their old plans to build a housing complex out there where some speculators didn't get what they felt they paid for and filed lawsuits, etc., but the reality is they don't even seem to...

    M&P Kydex $9.99

I picked one up 2 or 3 years ago when they were first on there. At the time, the darn holster was REALLY tight, and for some odd reason they'd loc-tited the 'adjustable' portion of the screws which control retention. I managed to crack the loc-tite and ended up with what turned out to be a...

New 45c: 9 lb trigger pull

Sounds like the Massachusetts trigger made itself into some other production pistols. Just checked mine (which has only had maybe 50 rounds through it so far) and it's at a decent 6.5lbs.

M&P Shield vs. M&P Compact: Once and for all.

Can't go wrong with either. Biggest consideration would be how you're most likely to carry it. If I'm going IWB, I carry the Compact. If I want to pocket carry (yes, I can pull that off) or am dressing more discreetly, I can go with the Shield.

Has Anybody Tried This Sight Tool??

I've got one, and while it's a very nice setup, the shimming necessary for the front sight was just to shaky for me. I contacted the maker to see if he might make a better fitting setup to better hold the M&P in place, but that didn't seem an option. Someone handy with a machine shop and some...

    Shield In A Box

Hmm. I've always pretty much removed the pistol from the box it came it, added it to the stack, and when I need to carry the pistol to the range, it goes in a zippered, padded case. I've taken to the ones that have padding for the pistol, and individual slots for magazines, such as MidwayUSA...

lgs has 100 dollar off coupon

A $100 off coupon sounds nice, but is the $449 before tax, or out the door? If they're asking $549 for an M&P, that's seems on the high side, even compared to the local stored with pretty bad pricing...unless it includes night sights or such.

So, I stopped by my favorite little Pawn Shop the other day......

Nice score. At my pawn shop, they'd have claimed it was a high demand item and listed it for $500.

did you sale/trade to get the m&p shield.

Nope. Only ever sold 2 guns...one because I was moving to a state where it wouldn't have been legal, and one because I realized that all the smith work I needed to have done to it to get it where I wanted would have cost more than just trading it in on the M&P that was close to what I was trying...

    Gun Show M&P's all $419

Jealous here. Last show I stopped by didn't have any, but I could have picked up a used Gen 3 Glock with what appeared to be a home stippling job done with a Bic lighter and a coat hanger for only $600.

    Take down tool

+1 on the table. Turn it 90 degrees, hook the edge on a table, and push from there. After a few times, it gets easier and can eventually be done by hand.

    I Know,Sounds Crazy. Why Not An M&P 22 Shield ?

I'd just like a .22 conversion for ANY size M&P.

    used prices

I personally start my thinking based on 75-80% of current new price, then go up and down from there depending on condition, rarity, accessories, etc. So my last used M&P I got a 9mm full size for $450, but it included a bunch of ammo, holsters, and a light. Many people want to recall what they...

    M&P22 as a trainer for M&P9c?

Apex gear for current M&Ps will NOT work in the M&P .22 as it's a completely different design (i.e. there's a hammer in the M&P .22 vs. the striker on the M&P line). That said, I personally find it very easy to transition between my compact and full size (and even the Shield), and plan to grab...

How much did you pay for your M&P Shield?

$418 total through Gun Genie. I had called my LGS to get one for me, and when they couldn't, they called me back and said to go ahead with the Gun Genie order. I think it's always polite to give them first crack.
