Sounds like the Massachusetts trigger made itself into some other production pistols. Just checked mine (which has only had maybe 50 rounds through it so far) and it's at a decent 6.5lbs.

Can't go wrong with either. Biggest consideration would be how you're most likely to carry it. If I'm going IWB, I carry the Compact. If I want to pocket carry (yes, I can pull that off) or am dressing more discreetly, I can go with the Shield.

Hmm. I've always pretty much removed the pistol from the box it came it, added it to the stack, and when I need to carry the pistol to the range, it goes in a zippered, padded case. I've taken to the ones that have padding for the pistol, and individual slots for magazines, such as MidwayUSA...

+1 on the table. Turn it 90 degrees, hook the edge on a table, and push from there. After a few times, it gets easier and can eventually be done by hand.
