    Faithful Old Trucks...

Treat the tranny nice & always make sure that you use ATF-4 Tranny fluid. I once had my trans flushed & the shop used Dextron...Screwed it up! I used to have an 89 4x4 Dakota with a v6 before my 93. Great engine. I just wish they had bigger fuel tanks.

    Faithful Old Trucks...

My old girl a Dakota started showing her "ailments" from not using her often. She was my Home Depot & dirt hauler truck Bought her new in '93 then added goodies like a lift kit & 33" wheels She was a V8 Magnum 4x4. This this could go ANYWHERE. I use to haul a 29' boat, and I never felt it back...

Been paying way too much for car insurance

As long as you were a former officer or enlisted personnel who separated and were honorably discharged you are eligible for USAA. I passed on Allstate, they had a decent rate but years ago they gave my wife the runaround on a claim...ah, Allstate "the good hands people, but why give a whole...

    EAA WINDICATOR Revolver??

So I took the new EAA 2" Nickel .357 Windicator to the range today & put 150 rounds through it. All I can say is very impressive little gun. I used 100 .38 special and 50 .357. Very stable, easy to double tap, recoil is minimal, even using .357 loads. Now realize, I paid $302 for this brand...

    Should I buy another Sigma?

+1 I bought my 40ve in early September & I have put no less than 2500 rounds through it...no malfunctions to date! This is a rock solid gun, it's like a Hyundai, people said they sucked too. They told be "go buy a Honda or Toyoya". 7 years later, still no problems with it...My friends, have...

Extra maintenance when CC'ing a Sigma?

No need, just clean & lube after shooting is sufficient. Unless you have curious little kids I wouldn't even unload it at night. Just tuck it to bed in your nightstand next to you.

    Should I buy another Sigma?

I also have a 40ve and I think this gun is great. I added a Crimson Trace laser for S&Gs. I find it a decent carry gun. Buying a 9mm Sigma would be a good idea especially if you go to the range a lot since 9mm ammo is much cheaper than .40 and you'd be using basically the same frame gun...

    Trying to Like My Sigma...

Ah you'd spend $500 ammo, and range fees anyway whether it's a Sigma or a 1911. As far as in time, well that's just part of the fun. Besides it's a challenge.

    Model 19 in pawn shop.

Definitely get hold of one of those. The Model 19 is an extremely dependable workhorse. I've had one now almost 30 years. Accurate & flawless.

    Trying to Like My Sigma...

The Sigma 40 is a real P.I.T.A. to get used to. I bought one last August and if my range hits were real life I'd be dead. I've used a S&W model 19 for almost 30 years. I hadn't been to the range in 3 years before this I thought I had lost my edge. Fortunately I brought my old .357 wheelgun and...

    Shooting training tool

My 16 year old has shown interest in wanting to go to the range with me. So we went with my 40 Sigma & my S&W 357 revolver. He shot 40 cal .38 as well as 357 loads. I have to admit he did fairly well. Here's his target below. Now he really wants to hone his skills. Since it is impossible to be...

    Bulk Ammo

Anybody know any good internet sources for bulk ammo? It would be for the range so I'm not to particular, even Military Ballistics Industries or BVAC re-manufactured would do at a good price Basically, I'll be looking for 1000 round each of 38 Special 40 S&W and depending on what the wife...

Why not .357 for home defense

Unless you live in a high crime area where you are defending your home nightly, I wouldn't worry to much about hearing loss, and in any case forget reaching for the muffs! I have a Model 19-5 with a 6" barrel. I've owned it since I was 21 living in N.J. (the hollow point banning state) I really...
