Correct grips for this 28-2 sfpd

I do own a S.F.P.D. mod. 28-2 too, and even my one has the same pachmayr grips. I've seen pictures of other SFPD 28's , all with the same grips, so this lets me think that the pachmayr were in effect the standard service grips for this gun in the SFPD

    586-2 special edition, 1982

well, thanks to everybody for the answers and the appreciations to my gun. Here's some more pictures, with some details of the engravings. I'm not an expert and I cannot say if it is a laser engraving.

    586-2 special edition, 1982

BTT for this post. I'm still looking for informations about my factory laser engraved 586-2 special edition. The only information I was able to find is that it is part of a "special order" manufactured in 1982.

How do agency markings impact value?

I do personally appreciate LE marked guns. I don't think that a SFPD marked mod. 29 could exist, but I have a SFPD marked 28-2 HP dated back 1973..... What to say..?? Could have belonged to one of dirty Harry's colleagues.... ;-)

627 pc - internal thread cylinder

Sorry, but I just cannot believe that it is intentional. if it would be, why than on the previous gun received by felipe (the one with the burrs on the trigger and the tooling marks on the barrel) those marks in the chambers were not present ???? I don't like to repeat myself, but once again...

627 pc - internal thread cylinder

@jaymoore : honestly speaking, I do not think that it is a matter of accuracy in shooting. I just cannot immagine the difficulties in cleaning those tooling marks after having shot some leads.... and how a bullet could be undercalibered after having passed through them. As I already said, I'm a...

627 pc - internal thread cylinder

just to specify : this is already a replacement of another revolver that Felipe had received with some minor defects.... Here the link to the first topic : http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-revolvers-1980-present/319721-poor-finish-627-pc.html Hard to believe that the replaced model is worst...

poor finish on a 627 PC

@s&wchad & biker98 : just to clarify.... I love the brand, and I'm the proud owner of a 29-2 , a 28-2 and a 586. My s&w's have an excellent finish... nothing to do with the defects shown in the above pictures. You can say that they're acceptable defects.... ok, it's your opinion. But in MY...

poor finish on a 627 PC

@texmex : seems more to be a "saturday gun" , made by the cleaning staff...... @nframecollector : you're right, could be acceptable for a china made gun valued 250$ For sure not for a US made gun that, I repeat, here in Europe is sold for abt. 1500 Eur (1900 $) How can a performance...
