    Federal HST Micro

If I were to ever run out of the 135 grain Gold Dots, and couldn't replenish, I would probably give these a go as soon as anything else currently available.

    Is the .380 enough?

Totally agree! I honestly don't think there is a big difference between .22 and .45, including everything in between, at least as far as the cartridge's termial ballistics is concerned. The big difference is in the platform. Can you hit what you aim at? That may be the only thing that really...

First range trip with M&P 340

Wow you must have a screw loose somewhere :D. I won't even shoot .38+p in an airweight anymore. The web of my thumb starts to look like hamburger after about 3 cylinders. Running full house .357 thru that 340 must be like riding an angry mountain goat, bareback ;)

    Mod 66-2, 2 1/2” $700 cash rejected

I remember most gun prices took a nosedive and stayed down for several years after the last financial mess in 2008. And I keep reading it's not going to be a pretty picture starting around late 2019/early 2020. Nothing at all wrong with hoarding cash and being patient. There will be better...

Need education on 9mm bullet weights for short barrels

I'm a big fan of HST, particularly in 9mm. It's what I keep in all my 9mm guns. I keep a good supply of both the 124 gr and 147 gr in standard pressure only. This is one round that actually performs slightly better with standard pressure, and by better I mean it will penetrate deeper than the...

    Mod 66-2, 2 1/2” $700 cash rejected

OP, do me a favor and PM the name/address of the store. I'd like to give the owner a piece of my mind. :D

    The perfect handgun.

Would have to say for a revolver it's my 3" 686+. It's cut for moon clips by TK Customs, and has the factory master revolver action package. It's as good as I could ever want in a wheel gun. For a semi-auto it's currently a VP9SK with Heinie straight 8 night sights. The combo just fits my...

    Thoughts on carry guns

I carried a Seecamp .32 and a Keltec P32 for about a year and a half, and can't say I felt under gunned. .32 acp may not be a top choice for ccw, but even a .25 will get the job done with proper shot placement. The little Seecamp shines at arm length or contact distance. Anyway, once I tried a...

    what would carry 24/7

I must confess I bought a Ruger LCR a few years ago because I was a huge fan of Breaking Bad. ***** thing that it is, it really shoots great. The out of box trigger was just as good as a J frame with factory trigger job and reduced power springs. It's also a couple ounces lighter than a 642...

Heads Up: Speer 38+P GDHP Short Barrel 50rd

That is a great price! Would be all over it if I wasn't already sitting on 500 rounds of the stuff.

    Woods Revolver

I'm partial to a 3" 686+ for a good all-around woods gun. The 3" barrel is long enough to have a full length ejector rod, comes out of a belt holster with ease, isn't too heavy to pack, and still has enough barrel length that velocity doesn't really suffer with 158 grain and heavier .357 loads...

    Pencil drawing #4, 442-1

Very nice drawing! Are those the Uncle Mike's 3-finger combat grips? Guessing they must be as I can barely get 2 fingers on the smaller boot grips.

Giving Up - .380 Is A Bust For Me

I own a pair of Kahr .380s - a P380 with the fancy black finish and a CW380. Highly recommend both, and carry both at the same time. They disappear in front and rear pockets. The CW has been reliable since the very first mag, while the P required some patience at first, and a 150-200 round...

    .380 Self-Defense Ammo

Same here. The XTP in .380 is all I will carry in my Kahrs. Functions 100% in both guns for about 50 rounds, which is when both my Kahrs start to choke no matter what ammo I use. Very accurate too.
