    .38 DA-Another addition....it must be an addiction!

Thanks gents, I do like it quite a bit. Makes me wonder how it got from here to there and back again in such wonderful condition?? Looking at the recoil shield there is barely any markings from fired shells, and the lockup for both barrel to frame/cylinder, are like a bank vault which leads me...

Glowe, So they didn't keep records for repairs, that is a shame! I'm going to have to get a letter request sent out PDQ, would like to know who recieved this particular revolver, especially in light of the serial # mystery! John.

Question about DA frontier serial numbers

Gents, Hope you don't mind me eavesdropping on your conversation, but I'm finding the whole affair rather fascinating! Anyway, the reason I'm posting is to address Dean's last paragraph of the above response...in that he is correct in his assertion that the two would not be interchangeable...

My DA .44 First Model...Arrived in the mail today!

Dean, Yes I'm 100% positive about the cylinder length, but only because I have the Frontier model I recently purchased to put it up against. As you can see, the cylinder on the Fontier model (left) is noticably longer than the one on the First Model (right) John.

My DA .44 First Model...Arrived in the mail today!

Deadin, Thanks for the tip on the barrel extension, it is the same full # as on the rest of the gun, so if it isn't a 7 whatever it is has been stamped on all parts with the serial #! Photo attached but just barely discernible, using the camera on my phone so I appologize for the quality...

My DA .44 First Model...Arrived in the mail today!

Gents, On to the serial number....I have looked at and taken pictures (attached) of the cylinder and stirrup latch, both having the same number as the frame. If it is indeed not a 7 and rather some other figure can someone explain to me what that figure is and represents? The cylinder has a...
