Scored a bucket list firearm today: Colt Python!

I had a semiauto pistol for sale and was telling the students in a concealed carry class I was teaching recently. A week later one of them expressed interest. We settled on a price but two days later he called me and offered a trade instead. I wasn't real keen on that until he said it was a Colt...

    Need Shield help quick!

We spent a long time on it today again to no avail. So it's going back to S&W Monday. Oh well, we tried. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Yes, the gun is unloaded. The mag wasn't in either which is how we higured the screw got inside the gun. We're going to spen a little more time with it and if no luck we'll send it back. Just hate to be defeated and don't want this lady to be without her EDC during Christmas shopping. Thanks all.

Thanks Hillbilly77. For you guys looking the screw is directly above the word "firing". The screw is not from the gun. It somehow got into the gun. It's basically under the barrel lug and prevents the barrel from moving downward and the slide won't come back. We've used dental picks and can move...

    Need Shield help quick!

I'm at work (a gun shop, not really work!) and all I have is an iPhone camera. The screw is able to move around. But using dental picks it moves but I can't seem to get it to fall out.

Sure I'll ema it to you. There is not enough room to get the screw out between the slide and frame. The screw is loose and will move around.

,I think the screw is a foreign item. The gun was in a box with other items. It is a shiny screw not blackened. I have a pic but can't figure out how to attach it. But if you hold the pistol pointed to the right look under the barrel breech between the slide and the frame right where the word...

    Need Shield help quick!

Customer just brought in a shield 40 NTS with a locked slide. Closer inspection revealed a very small hex screw stuck under the barrel lug when looking through the small gap under the barrel breech between the frame. I've tried to budge it with a dental probe but the screw has no where to go. Is...

Moving front sight on 9mm shield

You can't adjust the rear due to the spring cap under it. You adjust the front in the opposite direction you want the bullet to go. Mine was a royal pain. I tried the vise with the slide padded with leather and a drop of oil on each side of the sight...barely budged it. Finally got my hands on a...

Locking up pistol in hot car

I'm an NRA instructor and laugh every time I play the basic pistol DVD for that class or our concealed carry classes when it mentions not to store a handgun or ammo in a hot vehicle. I was also a cop for 27 years. Want to guess where cops store their weapons and spare ammo? I was a SRT officer...

    Question/Opinion

There is no argument that a bigger caliber is usually better. But... I am a 55 yr. old retired police officer. When I retired I was carrying a Kimber 1911 with 4 mags, taser, OC spray, sometimes a baton, and a walkie to call more guys with guns, tasers, etc. Now it's just me. I have hung up the...

    Holster Needed

I need a decent kydex left hand outside the waist holster for my S&W Shield with a crimson trace laser guard preferably for around $50 and a quick turnaround time. Recommendations anyone? (Hope I'm not asking too much!). Thanks.

Saw a "Safety-Free" Shield --- Almost bought It

Get it. I'm a lefty and I was always worried about that friggin safety too. I work at a gun shop and I traded for the first NTS Shield that came in the door. It shoots as good as my other one...awesome.
