All the talk about the 66, thought this may be interesting.
I bought 3 guns, one of which was a S&W 66-3 for $400.00. Sold the other 2 for $450.00. Serial number is BFT1310. Cannot find the year, But I have not looked real hard.
No on the Red Dot. It was just fine on a Browning Contour .22. The Contour was just as accurate as the 41 5.5". The 5.5" is a performance center 41. Thanks for all the feed back. Will re-examine the barrel.
In my observations, the 50AE is a pussycat compared to the S&W .500 MAG & .460 MAG. Never shot a 50 AE, but was on the KCPD range when one of our officers shot his. And I have shot several hundred rounds of 500 S&W and 460 S&W from 3 each of my own guns.
Bought a S&W model 41 7-inch barrel in 2024. Shoots 3-inch groups at 25 yards securely from bench pistol rest with CCI standard and mini mag ammo. The same ammo at same distance in the 5-inch barrel shoots 1/2-inch groups. Both barrels is topped with a sig Romeo 1 red dot. Any ideas on my failure?
This is 1 of 3 guns purchased for $400.00. Sold the other 2 for $450.00. Did pretty good on that deal. June, 2002.

First 66 bought new in 1974 costing $150.00. The model 60 cost $110.00. Both were purchased for LEO duty. Both sold out of severe economic hardship. Was happy to...
Did
Did that and bought it. Thank you very much. Just hope the Sig Sauer Romeo 5 fits properly on it. Have several other Romeo on various other .22 pistols.
Been searching for the proper scope rail that is correct for the latest production 7 inch S&W model 41 barrel. I wish to mount a Sig Romeo 1. Would appreciate information on the correct rail for that barrel. Thanks.
Guns make noise. Get used to it. I shoot many different handgun calibers from .22rf to .308 Encore and a .30-30 revolver and everything in between. They all make noise. I have as much right on the range as someone shooting .22 CB caps.
I have 3 switch cylinder Ruger Blackhawks one of which is the .357/.38 and 9mm. The 9mm shoots just fine in the .357 barrel. Like any firearm, different ammunition can show difference in accuracy. However, I never buy ammo. I reload everything I shoot. The 9mm shoots just fine in the Ruger using...
