    Rip Off or Ignorance?

I gave $100 for one VERY similar several years ago (dead giveaway is no sideplate!). It had a broken trigger return spring. I fixed it, and traded it (with full disclosure of its pedigree) for a nice set of N stag magnas to a guy that just wanted a .44R shooter.

Triple Lock Revolvers Against Creditcard Debt

I have a TL, but we're just like you with CC's! My Fidelity Visa puts 2% of every dollar I spend on the card directly in a Roth IRA. I funnel everything through it that I can. I haven't paid ANY interest in well over 10 years. Once you've seen the other side of debt, it's so liberating.

    KCPD issued ammunition

My factory refurb'd KCPD RM I have came to me with clean chambers.

Please, is this an authentic H.E. Triple Lock?

It looks an awful lot like a real Smith TL, but the .44 Special was NEVER a U.S. service cartridge! The roll marks don't make any sense. The "and US service cartridge" roll mark was only used on early .38 Spl revolvers because they would also safely chamber the slightly shorter .38 Long Colt...

    Help id

You have an M frame Ladysmith 3rd model. Here's my 6" target version beside my 10" 29. I shoot the Ladysmiths and my civil war era tip up .22 Smiths sparingly with subsonic .22 BB or CB shorts. Those are basically a primer and bullet with very little if any gunpowder. DO NOT try to shoot...

Help Identify Pre War N Frame Hammer

I checked my stash. I have a couple pre-war N hammers, and a post war transitional (with safety cut), but no spares with the chafing bushing. A GOOD gunsmith shood be able to make your hammer and trigger work as intended. Also, I assume the hammer and trigger pivot pins are in the same place as...

Genuine bicycle revolver or cut barrel?

The good book says a .32 Safety Hammerless in excellent condition is worth $400 or more. A 2" Bicycle version is worth about double. I have its bigger brother in .38. Unless it's a factory refinish, it shows no signs of a refinish. The pins and screw holes haven't been over polished. There's no...

    I frame identity question

The modern hammer block as we know it didn't come into existence until very late WW2. A sailor was killed when a Victory model was dropped on its hammer and went off. That caused the change. All post-WW2 Smiths utilize a hammer block.

Help Identify Pre War N Frame Hammer

Nope. That has the early chafing bushings. The were removed circa 1915 in the K frame. I've never owned a British WW1 .455 TL so I can't say for sure when that feature went away. By the time the 1917 came out, it was gone. My 1st year 1910 7.5" TL target has the bushings. And to Quinn, looks...

    38SA 1st Model "Baby Russian"

Great info! I've always cut a new V spring from one of those office supply black binder clips with the chrome 'squeeze wire' things. They come in several sizes, and I've never had one break.

    Old ivories- help in identifying

The .44DA and the K round butt are almost identical. They're both the same overall length and width. Only difference is the bottom corners are a little bit sharper on the DA. Unless these fit one of the earlier American or Russian models (which I'm not familiar with), they aren't for any Smith...

    Another old one

Before I was able to find (and afford) a proper .32-20 Target, I assembled one on a .38 HE Target frame I got cheap because someone lopped off the barrel, and the seller didn't list it as a target model. I found a standard .32-20 cylinder and barrel. I got lucky, and it was almost a 'drop-in'...

The only one - A 4" K-22 target revolver Stainless steel Model 65

There's scarce, rare, and one of one! I have a few of 1,000, a few of a few hundred. Probably even some that are one of less than a hundred. I one of one is the ultimate!

Anyone Recall Reports of a Stolen .38-44 Outdoorsman?

NRA and GOA both have legal teams to help with these situations. Call both ASAP, and any other state or local gun rights group you can find. If it goes to court, them proving this is a stolen gun is almost impossible. Too many common clerical errors on the side trying to take your gun. And even...

Has this S&W 44 special 3rd model been reblued?

Yes it has the wrong (although still valuable) stocks. That style (deep dish large gold tone medallions) was used from about 1910 until just after WW1. Yours being 1939-40, it would have shipped with flush mounted large silver medallion stocks (grips).
