    Farmer Carry

I always carry something (pistol, rifle). On the tractor I have a leather scabbard that holds a lever action rifle or a 10/22. Someone standing near can't tell what is in the scabbard by looking. Also carry a S&W J frame or a Ruger semi as a daily habit. One never knows what is out there...

    Land buying advice?

Since you are away from "city" sewers you want to have a soil probe and a perc test done for a onlot septic system. Even if you have no interest in building, it will give you or the next owner info on what has to be installed. Some banks and state regs require these permits.

Which S&W J frame revolver model do carry?

637-2. Works great. I never touched the "loc" but have considered removing it. Maybe someday when I get the courage to take apart the gun.

Any of you work in a factory? Do you like it?

Never worked in a factory. I farmed for a number of years and then started a logging business for 30 years. Put up with the weather and lean times but never wanted to work "inside". Every day was a challenge in the woods and the dairy barn. Often wonder how people could do the same thing...

    The vanishing family farm

When we sold our dairy cows I did not go into the barn for a week. I, as of today, still hate going into the empty building. It was a very good life but the return on our time and money was poor. I have always felt liked our failure to keep the farm going was/is a low point in my life...
