Gash in the slide after 50 rounds!?

That looks good, I might have to look around for something finer than 800 grit. I plan on doing the top of the slide too and only leaving the rounded edges matte... but I gotta get sights first.

Gash in the slide after 50 rounds!?

Finally got around to fixing this today while I was polishing the sides of the slide and some of the internals. It never caused any problems, but it bothered me so I fixed it. The polishing is turning out nice. I've only made it to 400 grit so far and it looks pretty good, I plan on going to at...

Gash in the slide after 50 rounds!?

No I haven't fixed it yet, but I have put about 600 rounds through it with no problems.

    2nd trip to the range

Well, it'll get cleaned after every outing, and I plan on getting a reloading setup soon. Maybe with some good hand loads I can keep the fouling at bay. Then again, I've been wanting a 25-06 for some time now but wouldn't even think about it with out a reloading rig. Only time will tell.

    2nd trip to the range

Nice target and NICE rifle. I've sold off all my rifles except for the Marlin 22LR. I'm looking into buying another rifle for 300+ yard target shooting. Me and a friend have a little wager on who can build the better target rifle for under $600. I'm thinking about a Savage Stevens 200 or...

    2nd trip to the range

Yeah... Hopefully it won't take 25-30 years. I'm new to handguns, but one of these days I'll post up some of my rifle targets! :D

    2nd trip to the range

Forgot to mention I also got the Hogue Handall Grip while I was there for $8. Didn't put it on til I got home though. I like it, even more comfortable than it already was!

    2nd trip to the range

I actually found time to hit the range today. I put another 130 rounds through the 9VE and didn't have a single problem. I can already see my aim improving as I get used to the trigger. I really like this gun. I was shooting Blazer Brass again (all I've tried so far), and I'm starting to...

Gash in the slide after 50 rounds!?

If it's not something that indicates a bigger problem I'll take care of it myself, I was kinda thinking about polishing the slide anyway. Guess I'll have to break out the files when I do. Thanks

Gash in the slide after 50 rounds!?

I picked up my Sigma yesterday to clean it and I noticed something strange. There is a gash in the slide where the barrel meets and locks. I've only shot 50 rounds through this gun and, while I believe the damage is only cosmetic, I don't think it should have this kind of wear. It looks like...

    Just got a Sigma 9mm!!

Wow... I've heard WWB wasn't good, but I didn't think it was that bad! Thanks for the heads up... I'll stick to the Blazer Brass from Dunn's until I save up enough brass to start reloading.

    Just got a Sigma 9mm!!

I stopped back by Dunn's and got another box of Blazer Brass on my way home from shooting actually! lol... Walmart also has WWB value packs $18 for 100

    Just got a Sigma 9mm!!

Thanks... I thought that was decent for my first 50 rounds... and from 15-20 yards too!

    Just got a Sigma 9mm!!

I made it out to my Dad's to do some shooting today. I only went through a box of 50, but I had ZERO malfunctions. I really like this handgun... I do need to get used to the trigger though. I shot from 15-20 yards, and all but one fell in the 8" square in the pic. I staged the trigger through...

    Just got a Sigma 9mm!!

Very informative guys... The Sigma came out to $289.99 after the rebate. I also left with a box of Blazer Brass for $10.99. I'm just north of there in Imperial. So, should I be using a dry lube on the Sigma instead of Rem Oil? The Rem Oil coats very light and I don't soak it.
