    LOOKED LIKE A HI-POWER

I have a model 39-2 as well as a model 59. Both are nickeled and have the blued slide stop, safety. As I recollect, I paid $450 for each one, no box, very nice looking condition.

    Model 39-2 & 59

Hoping for some information. I have both a 39-2 as well as a 59, both are nickel plated. My question is ...were the original factory magazines for these also nickel plated? Thanks for responding.

    638 vs. Model 38

I have carried my satin nickel model 38-2 .38 Spl. for about 20 years and felt very comfortable knowing it was with me and only weighed 14.3 ounces. A couple of years ago, I purchased a 340PD, 357 Mag. and only 11 ounces. With magnum rounds, it's pretty rough and not allowing for a quick...

    .44 spc,Truth or Myth?

This is a joke....right? If not, the answer is NO, it can never be safely loaded to be more powerful than a .44 magnum! It will destroy your revolver, maybe your hand and/or face and most certainly your reputation as a reloader.

    ugraded my trigger

A few weeks ago I bought a S&W M&P in .45 acp. Took it to the range and fired about 30 rounds thru it, I was amazed that a great company like S&W would allow a pistol with such a crappy trigger pull to be sold with their name on it. I have many of their revolvers as well as pistols, all are...

    100 Yard Shooting [no scope]

Want some more fun... throw some clay pigeons on a 50 yard dirt bank and then use your red dot to take them out. At dusk, use a laser.

    I agree with the above.

Concealed carry revolver - need advice

Before you choose, be sure to give the 638 a look, I'm pretty sure it will please you. It has a hammer that you can cock, but it will never snag on clothing. It offers the best of both the double and single action shots. Weight is about 14 ounces and the grip can be replaced with the Crimson...

What SD Ammo in an Airweight J-Frame?

I carry the Hornady +Ps in my 340PD. While it only weighs 11 ounces, the elongated Crimson Trace grips help to tame the recoil a lot for a quick 2nd shot as needed. It's not bad with the lighter weight .357s also. Also, flat nose 148 gr. hard cast wadcutters in .38 revolvers offer pretty good...

Current carry: what's on you right now?

Just got home and my 340PD is still in my front pocket loaded with 5 Hornady Critical Defense .38+Ps. It's so light, I often forget to remove it from the DeSantis holster.

Thanks for the thanks. I also thank all vets who have ever donned the uniform for any length of service time. 21 years here.

    New 642 snub nose carry

I agree, a hard cast 148gr. wad cutter really is a very good load to carry in a snub .38. Rather than using factory wad cutters (which are usually swaged pure lead), find someone who casts and reloads the 148 wad cutters in a hard mixture and use that. Soft lead and hollow base wad cutters are...

    New 642 snub nose carry

No argument here, just a clarification. Hornady does not make critical duty in .38, just critical defense. Critical defense will usually do the job. A magnum round will give a little more velocity, but not enough to warrant the extra recoil, IMHO.
