Took my 329 to the range yesterday. It is a real sweet shooter with specials. The DA pull (I only shoot revolvers DA) is very heavy, but smooth, and the sights are real easy to pick up. Hadn't shot it in a while - forgot how much I liked it.
A while back when I got my 40FS I mentioned I thought the stock trigger was both gritty and mushy compared to my XDm-40. The responses were split with half saying get the Apex kit and half saying give the stock trigger time. Well I've given the stock trigger some time, and I'm happy to report it...
I've used the one that came on the M&P40 (which I guess is the medium one) up to now, but I felt like the gun was flopping around a bit in my hand unless I used more trigger finger than I like. So after my last range session (I've only had three with this gun) I switched to the large which felt...
Put another 70 rounds through the gun today for a total of 230 flawless rounds through the gun (my OP was wrong about the number of rounds - it was 160, not 220), and I can tell the trigger is starting to feel a little less mushy and a little less gritty.
One thing I also noticed is I feel like...
Thanks guys. I had no basis for comparison since not only had I never tried this before, but I've never seen anyone else at the range where I shoot use anything but a scope and rest/bipod at 100 yards.
Tried this today with a 15T and a Romanian WASR 10 AK into a 12x12 inch target. 25 shots with each rifle. All 50 shots went into the target. Is this reasonably good?
I was being a bit facetious since I mentioned I have both in my OP, and for me the out of the box triggers are better. Obviously neither one is a 1911.
BTW do dry fires count in working in the stock M&P trigger? Normally I only dry fire DA revolvers, but I've got some .40 snap caps.
Yes, this bothers me as well. I had a similar problem with my Night Guard revolver where I had to replace the stock firing pin with an Apex Tactical to get reliable ignition. S&W tried to claim it was bad ammo causing the problem, but once I replaced the F/P I never seemed to get any more "bad...
