Well, I have the answer and it is YES. Tried it at my shooting range today and we swapped my upper on a new Shield plus and it slipped right on. Didn’t shoot it because it was a brand new Performance Center Shield Plus but the upper went right on and dry fired with no issues.

I shoot USPSA at a local range weekly and last night I explained my question to them. They have a rental Shield Plus and he told me to bring mine in and we can swap out the parts and see if it works. We took the slide off of the Shield Plus last night and I’m going to bet that it will work...

Thanks for the info, it’s much appreciated. To clarify, mine is the “first addition” MP 9 SHIELD that came with a 7 and 8 round magazine. I was curious if the new shield that has the exact same dimensions as my Shield EXCEPT for the slightly thicker grip that accommodates a few more rounds...

I have a first generation SHIELD 9mm Performance Center pistol and this is my question———will the upper fit on one of the new higher capacity shield lowers? I ask this because I like the sights and the ported barrel/slide of my Shield but was curious if the upper would fit on the new high cap...

I had a mag go down during a shoot and a friend gave me a mag from his Victory to try. I had to do a field expedient mod and do a little whittling on the plastic base plate with my trusty pocket knife to get it to seat but it ended up working just fine.

Yeah, thanks for the in depth comment....... I ran a borescope through both the barrel and the cylinder and was really surprised at the quality of the finish of both of them. I've seen barrels and cylinders in much worse condition and they were modern firearms. I'd have no fear whatsoever to...

Disassembled the pistol and found that the equivalent of the hand in a modern pistol has broken off of the pin it was a part of. I'm guessing that finding any parts whatsoever are impossible......

Thanks to all for the info-it's been very helpful and informative. Have to admit I'm a bit embarrassed to have come across a pistol that I had absolutely NO knowledge of!!! I'm amazed at the quality and complexity of the pistols manufacture.

I agree about the notches and if you look closely on the upper left grip (which I am thoroughly convinced is ivory) there are also five faint lines cut into the grip. This pistol sits in an original time period leather holster and has spent at least the last 70 plus years in a drawer untouched...

Awesome info-thanks! I have never seen a pistol set up like this one to include the bizarre location of the bullet loading gate and what appears to be the way the pistols barrel can be quickly removed from the frame.

Slightly different question but it sounds like you folks could answer it. I have a performance center Shield 9mm ported-is there a way to find a Non-Ported version of the same barrel to use as a swap out?
