It does start with S XXXXXXX ... I don't have it on me so I will have to grab it when I get home. I did a little bit of research to come up with the 1947 guess ...
So that strain screw will effect trigger pull?
This found it's way into my buddies LGS on trade so I grabbed it super cheap ... I love it! Timing and lock up and nice .. fair amount patina .. Think it's a 1947
Good find at under $300 ?
Next gun on my list.. want an older blued 29 with 8" barrel.. maybe throw an unfluted cylinder on it or something but def a square wood grip and partial lug
Ohh man.. i have to give her hell to get the 440gr nickel cases out of my 500 .. those sumbishes are hot!
Most other ammo ejects with fairly little drama .. but those winchester rounds get stuck in there tighter than 2 dogs humpin
I have an xtra Kydex holster for one of these if your interested .. made a couple of them a while back and this one is pretty comfy ... CCW like a man!
My local shop will give me good trade credit for this but he just doesnt a .44 I want on the shelf right now .. i got about $1200 into this set up but I know used optics are a dicey market
Thank you Kernel .. you confirmed what I suspected after searching the forums for a bit

A very good condition leupold VX3 6.5-20x50 long range side focus scope with leupold xpr rings and a yellow lens .. pretty nice rig
what do you think that spot is on it in the pic? I assumed nickel cause of that but if polished stainless I might be able to fix it
