I got a chance to handle a 642 at my LGS today and I really like that grip, feels great in my hand. I hope VZ Grips makes them available for general consumers and not just some unobtanium 1 off grip. I'd be curious if it would be compatible with my humpback or exposed hammer j frames.
I also live in Iowa and while I wouldn't say we get worse winter conditions than inland Alaska, we have a much wider variation per year. Winters that get into the -30s with wind chill and summers that get above 100 are common. "All weather" is appropriate for Iowa.
I was kinda interested until I spied what appears to be a lock hole on the left side of the receiver near the top. That's an instant turn-off. Also they decided the blued wood version is $3500?! Who in their right mind thought that was acceptable? Furthermore, why open with .44? Everyone makes a...

See, what I never understood is why anyone would buy a gun specifically to not shoot it. It's a gun, that's the point. If you want to just stare at something, buy a painting. I love my Model 27-2 but no way in hell would I want it to spend it's life in my safe. I shoot it and I'm even gonna...
I'm very satisfied with my BK grips on my J and K frames. K frame BK grip also works on my N frame. The black looks great with a blued gun. I think the ivory color works fine with stainless but YMMV. I'd personally recommend you get a BK just to try it out and see if you like grip adapters in...
A sucker is born every minute. If some rich idiot wants to overpay, that's his business. The unfortunate side effect of that is that can push up the fair market price if it happens enough. I'm into buying, not selling, so if you are the reverse of me, I guess all the rich idiots with money to...
