Bought a brand new 617/4 inch. It locked-up after firing 40 rounds. Sent back to S&W for repair. Returned to me in 2.5 weeks. Fired 50 rounds and it locked up again. So, back to S&W for repair. Awaiting return and hoping they actually fix the problem this time!

New 617 problems I purchased a new 617 with 4" barrel. Took it to the range and after 40 rounds it locked up. Had to use a tool to force the spent casings out of the cylinder. Sent back to S&W, where the estimated repair time is 3-4 weeks. Not very impressed with S&W QA.

Model 19-3. It has all the attributes I want in a revolver.
