    Have Gun Will Travel

I have 11 Hand Ejectors: 1896 to 1961. Not many, but a large part of my small collection. I was born in Texas and have spent most of my life here. Five of the guns were shipped to Texas, the rest kind of all over. Thought it was interesting how much or how little they have travelled over the...

Looking to find any value before I send it off to the father in law up north for 50 bucks serial number 191589 was MP 1906-1909 can’t find much online

Just had a thought. You really can't just send the gun up north. An individual cannot ship a gun these days. You will probably go to a dealer and pay a transfer fee so he can receive the gun from you and ship it to a dealer up north. Probably $35 or so for the transfer and another $30 or so for...

    SW 1917, 45 Rev, barrel marked S&W D.A. 45. crane number 6222, Grip. US ARMY model 1917 No 9753

Pictures would help. Crane number does not matter, what we call an assembly number. With the low serial number I am thinking 1917. Someone may be along with better knowledge.

    What Would You Do?

Talked to RIA. They said with what I have they could not say the gun belonged to James C. White. Said they would show the provenance I have and say something like they think a high probability the gun belonged to Doc. They estimated the gun at $12,000 to $18,000. Just sent them the basics of...

Won this S&W on GB would like some more info please

Nice gun. Think the description is correct. You could add that it is a 4th Change. They started at serial number 241704 in 1915. So .38 M&P Model of 1905, 4th Change. Here is my .38 M&P Model of 1905, 3rd Change #210874 from May 1913.

Year of Introduction of Paper Manuals

I have one for a Model 19 and one for a Model 29. Both dated January 1, 1960. Have not seen any with an earlier date. Maybe Doc44 will weigh in.

Early .22 Outdoorsman with neat grip adapter

The early K-22s came with the gold bead sight, but the gold bead could be special ordered after the change to the stainless steel bead. My gun, 661640 shipped April 6, 1937 to Cullum & Boren in Dallas with stainless steel bead. In that time period the invoices were two to a page. So I got the...

    Registered magnum

Larry, Mr. Lester's opinion is very informed. Until recently he was in charge of the Pre-War .357 Magnum Database on the SWCA site. Another indication of your shipping date is the small logo on the left side. On July 21, 1936 a directive was issued for a bigger logo on the right side. Roy Jinks...

    Registered magnum

Very nice, congratulations. You should get a letter and then request any documents that are available. On the Registered Magnums there are usually documents to be had. There is an extra fee for this. You will be quoted a price for what they find. No charge if nothing is found. For my gun there...

    What Would You Do?

Thanks, VM. Have thought of that also. Have a letter about the gun going in for repair. Nothing about the repair or the gun coming back to Potchernick's. There is not a number on the back of the extractor star. Probably it was replaced as part of the out of time repair. handejector said he had...

    What Would You Do?

Don't think so. Found no agents with similar names. Only White I found was James brother Tom.

Trying to Get it Right (Grips for Model 1905)

Mine is from 1913. By then they were using Gold Medallion stocks.

Trying to Get it Right (Grips for Model 1905)

These are N Frame, but K Frame should be the same. 1907-1911. Think you are looking for concave. The grips you show are convex and from a later period.
