Hi All,
Just picked up this mint 29-3 6 inch and was wondering if this could have come with the Pachmayr grips that it's wearing?
I have another 29-3 with wood grips.
I like the wood grips better as I have large hands.
Any suggestions where I can find some?
Also a member in another post...
Thanks for all the knowledge!!
I removed the grip and found a 5.13 stamped there.
May of 1913? What would May of 2013 be stamped?
Would a letter tell me about the refinish/repair?
Thanks again.
Hi guys,
I made an impulse buy because I liked it but I don't really know what I have.
Any help would be appreciated.
Only have a few pics right now.
Thanks!
WOW!!
Love them all but must admit I like the blued one the best.
Waiting for the day I might be fortunate enough to own one.
Thanks to all for posting the pics.
Thank you all for the help.
He said it doesn't work and was thinking of sending it in to S&W to have them repair it. Do they work on that old of a pistol?
I had him measure the cyl and he said it was 1 3/8 inchs
So would I be correct in assuming it was probably made in 1881 due to the 3 digit serial number?
Hello folks,
A friend of mine forwarded some pictures of a revolver that he had picked up. He was hoping I could help him identify it.
I believe it is a First Model 44 DA. I don't have the gun but I'm uploading the pics in the hope that some of you knowledgeable folks can tell me if I'm...
Congrat's on your 29.
I have the exact same one that I picked up used back in the 80's.
It was my first handgun and I still love it and shoot it.
I'm sure you'll have a blast shooting it.
I'm looking at a model 66-4 for sale locally and would like to know the year.
And before anyone advises me I just ordered "The Standard Catalog Of S&W's" but it won't be here until next week.
This is a 2 1/2 version serial number BSR4xxx.
Any help would be appreciated.
Here are some other pics from the auction.
Wish I would have bought it but I didn't know anything about them and I am leery of commemorative guns.
It went for $3750.
I did a lot of searching yesterday for info about the 25-4.
I only found one mention in a thread about 25-3's. It said the 25-4's where engraved 125th anniversary guns and that only 50 were made.
Don't know if that's true or not.
I do know that there are a lot of knowledgeable people on here and...
Hi All,
I'm looking at a Registered Magnum and wanted your opinions.
It's a 1937 6.5 inch barrel in approx 90% condition, with a letter.
It does not have the stock grips.
No box or goodies.
How much does not having the stock numbered grips affect the value?
Asking price is $6500.
I'm...
