I too have issues seeing my iron sights now that I need bifocals. I just purchased an Aimpoint Pro that I find excellent. Used it at 25 yards only in an indoor range. Wednesday I'll be trying it at 100. I love my sport. It has been excellent & extremely reliable.

OS-Wiz, Very nice shooting! Is the 62gr load you were using the XM855? If so that's more impressive. I'll be very happy if I get similar results when I try my Aimpoint Pro. I've always been a fan of iron sights until I needed bifocals.

Only if you are using something like XM-193. But, there are other rounds available that expand instead of yawing and some that reliably expand down to around 1800 fps or slower. That equates out to over 300 yards in a 16 or even 14.5" barrel.
