I had the reverse problem with mine. The barrel nut was torqued down so much from the factory that neither I or the gunsmith at the shop was able to safely break it. It took a trip back to the factory to do it. I'm also a blue Loctite user and a drop has held it safely in place.

I got a 637 5 weeks ago and have put more rounds through it in that time than any of my other guns. I shoot it DAO and it's a great gun to use to improve trigger control and accuracy. The only problem I have now is that when I first pick up my 4" model 66 it feels like I'm lifting an anvil.

I also have a 617 6" and, while it's a nice gun, I'd get a 4" if I had it to do over. I'm older and not too big and the gun is heavy and tires me out so I normally only do 5 round loads.

I bought a 617 a month or so ago. When I asked for snap caps the gunshop owner gave me 10 of those #4 yellow wall anchors and told me to have a ball.

I also have a pretty new 617 6" and have had some misfires with Browning 40 gr LRs when shooting DA. I saw H Richards post about seating and that may be my problem. I've shot Browning and CCI and the CCIs fit flush while some Brownings seem to be a little oversized and I haven't been careful to...
