M&P 15-22 Results, Post 'em here. I got Mine!!

Finally got my rifle back last Thursday. Just under 3 weeks from the day I sent it in. Arrived with two free mags! Nice touch.... Been traveling since Friday, so I have not had a chance to fire it. Will advise as soon as I get that opportunity and give a range report. S&W only said that my...

Yeah, I think they have been all taught to answer the same way when customers call in. The first time I called, the fellow I spoke with admitted to having heard of such a problem as the broken feed ramp. The next time I called, all they will say is that they are not familiar with this problem...

That is precisely why I never hesitate to purchase any S&W product that I happen to like. My experience has always been that they will take care of any problem I have ever had, or will have. UPDATE on my broken feed ramp: Spoke with S&W yesterday. My dealer sent it to them Monday of last...

Another former Colt M4 Ops owner here. Other issues I found were: 1) extreme pickiness with different types of ammo (much more so than with the S&W) 2) so many unnecessarily incompatible parts with the AR platform, like pistol grip, fore-end, trigger group, trigger guard, take-down, etc. 3)...

This is exactly what I found to be the case. I learned to load in this manner from my GSG-5, Ruger MkII, and my Beretta Neos, all of which seemed to feed flawlessly if I just took the time to load them a bit slower and by using the spring pressure as described. My M&P15-22 actually did quite...

For me it was about 400-500 rounds. Hopefully yours is of a newer design by which S&W has made some adjustments. Mine was one of the first to hit the market, and the first one my dealer got (they are quite a large dealer here in central TX).

Broken feed ramp issue Howdy Marvan -- I had the same thing happen to me this weekend. I had probably fired about 400-500 rounds without problems before this happened. 1) How long did it take for yours to break? 2) What were you shooting when it did? 3) Is your rifle still functioning...

Howdy 27Beck -- I highly recommend that you ask them to do this. There is a feeling from S&W Service that they may have used a bad batch of metal when casting that part of the breech. They are still investigating root cause. I would rather it be that, than a design flaw, which would become an...

My luck ran out... Well, it finally happened. I was out this last weekend shooting my M&P15-22, and it just stopped working all of a sudden. I noticed that none of the rounds were making it into the breech, but rather, stopping just below it. I removed the mag and out fell a small metal...

That's a big affirmative, Vincentc77. I put a Leupold prismatic on mine and am shooting really tight groups at 100', even with Federal bulk ammo. Magnification can be fine, but then you have to take it off for close range work. With a 1x sight, and the etched reticle of Leupold that can...

TxShooter -- I use the same approach to loading the mag as I do on my Ruger Mk-II: 1) I pull down slightly on the follower guide to insert one round butt-first 2) I release the spring pressure slightly to seat the round properly 3) I pull down again slightly to load the next round, continually...

Welcome Hubie.40. This is a good forum -- lots of relevant info and tips. I've got several S&W firearms in my collection and am very pleased with all of them. I noticed the mag-loading sequence on my first mag at the range, and have never had a singe problem -- regardless of ammo brand or type.

For what it is worth, every interaction I have ever had with S&W for a quality or service issue (which has been seldom), has always been handled promptly. For this reason I never think twice about selecting a product from S&W -- best-in-class service policies.

Howdy Burk -- just like the previous reply, I also load my mag to the max with no problems, regardless of ammo. Agree that can be a problem with some .223 mags. I'm 100% P-Mag now because of that. The other thing I didn't like about the Colt M4-22 that I traded, was that same issue of a...

I believe that is correct. Although I don't have it with me right now, I believe the S&W manual only states 1 year, but they have been notorious for standing behind their products for the life of them. Not too many firearms vendors do that. Technically, Umarex isn't even Colt, and yet a third...
