Two thumbs up here. I was having issues with a BNIB (surprise) 629. I sent it to the PC for a complete re-do and upgrade. It came back mechanically PERFECT with a turn around of three weeks door to door. It's now the best revolver I've ever handled

THAT. I can tell from the pictures that it has not been shot enough. I'd take that out once a month and shoot the you-know-what out of it. Your Dad will be smiling down on you every time that you do.

My unobtanium airlite PD 340. It melts in your pocket and you forget it's there. It's like a 12ga with 3" magnums when it goes off... She might draw blood on both ends, but it will get the job done. She's NOT a range toy.

At some point it just makes more sense for me to jump to 12, 15 or 17. So, why settle for 8 especially when that eight shooter has a LOCK. Personal preference.

Great intel on the -5.. I'll look for one of those also. My 629 has MIM and has had no related issues. I agree about the no-lock versions being rarer every year. What I buy will be a shooter, so it won't break my heart to get a newer pre-lock version.
