Another striker-fired favorite of mine is the M&P Compact 2.0. I love the sharp texture on the grip frame! Extremely secure in the hand! I did upgrade the trigger to an Apex kit.

I love the Shield Plus' new trigger from Smith & Wesson. To my mind, they've out-Apexed Apex by making the safety lever nearly as wide as the trigger shoe itself. Practically no creep, flat wall, clean break, no sponginess, as well. I wouldn't be surprised if S&W uses this trigger design on...

Jeez... those malfunctions in a brand new S&W revolver are MIND BOGGLING. That revolver has serious problems of far more importance than the scratches in your photo. Build quality of current production S&W revolvers must be depressingly poor for that to have gotten out the door.

Escapee... what you mention here is what I was asking about - the accuracy issues with the early M&Ps chambered in 9mm, that were commonly complained about when they first came out. I bought an M&P40 Compact when they first came out and went through some teething issues with a mag drop issue...
