The angled grip is for holding while I'm crouched. The bipod grip is more economical to have if I don't want to use them. Just simply retract and ready to go. Plus the weight helps offset the recoil and might come in handy if I ever have to hold the weapon while standing.
A buddy of mine told me that since there hasn't been a lot of rounds fired through the gun yet (about 200 so far), that it could be just tight and that the best thing to do is to lock the bolt back to the rear overnight to break-in the tension on the spring.
Having an issue with the bolt not locking to the rear after firing the last round. I can manually lock it back on an empty mag via the charging handle. The only mods that I've done that might affect this is installing a Magpul PRS buttstock and a hydraulic buffer kit (to ease up on the...
OK, that clears things up a bit then. The guy said their rails fit DPMS upper and lowers with a thread pitch of 1.250" X 18. I'll just keep the info that you gave me for future reference.
I did tell them that, and they still asked the thread pitch. Thought they were referring to something else and I was being clueless to what they were asking. Glad to know it wasn't me.
I've contacted Unique ARs, and they seem interested in building a custom version of the Odin Works 308 Kmod forend. They just need to know what the thread pitch is for the barrel nut, and I don't know what it is.
Might consider this then.
Yankee Hill Machine KR7 GII .308 Handguard - Mid-Length - YHM-5305-GII - Primary Arms
My intentions are to install a SS handguard in which the rails on the receiver and the gas block match up with the rails on the handguard.
Just purchased a M&P 10 and one of the first things I want to do is swap out the factory handguard with a free float - preferably one that doesn't clash with lines of the upper receiver. I was interested in getting the CMMG MK3 handguard, but noticed that it was not compatible with the DPMS...
