    "Borrowed" Guns?

I have loaned a specific M&P .38 to my sister one time (lasted 6 or 10 months), and my dad one time (lasted a year or two). Couldn't have done anything to the finish. Sister never shot it, but it made her feel safer. Dad put a couple hundred rounds through it, and carried it quite a bit. I was...

Am I crazy for buying a Shield?

1-Go to corneredcat and read. Have her go there and read. She has advice on manipulating and choosing guns. 2-The woman is an adult. She picks her own guns.

    Airweight...How many rounds

No idea on real numbers, but certainly over 2k. Bought January 2004.

What are your 3rd Gen goals or possibilities for 2016?

I have probably got all the third gens I'll be able to justify: a 3913 (early production) and a 3913LS (late). Same for the other Smiths I have: 642, 13-3, and c.1930 M&P. What more does a guy need? Yeah, need has nothing to do with it, unless you have a budget to keep to. Got a kid in...

Latest "used and abused" acquisition. Pics added.

I have a 4" 1930 M&P in about that same condition. Still runs very nicely.

The attraction of heavily "used & abused" pistols...

I would have bought it, and hope to find one similar if I ever get serious about having a .45 again. I have a 3913LS that has a couple of tiny frame edge marks, and just traded into a more worn and older 3913 that will probably start to get carried instead to prevent wear on the LadySmith.

    S&w 4506 age and history

A 4506 is one of the few .45 pistols I would consider actually buying. And if I ever do buy one, only dire finances would get me to part with it.

    40 Cal vs. 9mm

Shield .40 I shot got old quick. I don't think I made it through a whole box, and I was done with it sooner than I actually quit. I've had a pocket 9mm, full size, and compacts. I've had a full size plastic .40, and a compact. I usually carry a 3913 and/or a 642.

Have You Had To Use Your Carry Gun?

A coyote going after my Brittany. A crippled deer on the side of the road. Flipped my coat loose of the gun once (not displaying, just clearing the coat) when I was about to get cornered by a pair of guys - who recognized what I'd done and peeled off.

    K-Frame Snub: 65-3 Three Inch

Paid $500 for a 13-3 3" a few years back. My favorite revolver.

    Night Sites for 3913

I've shot a Shield. I bought a 3913, Trijicon sights, had them installed, and have since bought 4 magazines (for a total of 6), and wouldn't sell or trade it for any polymer single stack I've ever seen. This is my daily packing buddy. I've wanted one since the first time I saw one, and the only...

Interesting encounter with AZ State Troopers

Those are all very good reasons to keep an AZ CCW.

    Glock 43 vs J frame

Have a 642 that I carried as my sole/main carry gun from Jan 2004 to Dec 2014. Then I bought a 3913. I can't really pocket carry it, but it holds 9 rounds vs 5, slick little 8 round mag sits next to my wallet for the reload, has a tremendously good trigger, Trijicon night sights, disappears...

    Do only "old"guys edc revolvers

Pocket carry = 642 since 2004. Belt carry has varied, but is, for the foreseeable future, a 3913 for concealed, SIG for open when I'm more interested in capacity, 13-3 when I want a .357. I think about a tiny .380, especially when they go on sale, but ... Will it actually work? The 642 will...

    Why Rotate?

When I started carrying, I had one gun, so that was what I carried. There was no rotation or option - if I carried, it was my gun, or a pocketknife. Years ago, I added a 642 to my battery, and it became the gun I carried most all the time. I have worn most of the finish off it, and holes in a...
