I have to ask this question and I'm not being a wise guy, but shouldn't this apply to me as well? I don't care to be shot either if I'm forced to be in a courtroom. Your first sentence mocks people that don't want to be helpless but your next says you should carry because you don't want to be...
Rhett Neumayer of Demonstrated Concepts pioneered the use of the Shockwave. This little video shows a person that had never used one before firing it after 5 minutes of training from Rhett. He has many other worthwhile videos on his youtube channel. DVC
I fully understand I don't "need" a front sight on a Boomer. My ESP is not very good though so I really can't say what I might have to use a defensive gun for. So I "want" a front sight. I know the intent of the design, but that intent limited the gun a little too much for my taste, so I fixed it.:)
Through the years, I've had a 296, 720 a Boomer and a .45 acp Pitbull. The 720 was OK but heavy and rough. The 296 was smooth, light and a brick shape. The Boomer was OK but I couldn't not have sights so I had a front sight installed. It worked OK. The Pitbull was an experience. First the barrel...
I've still got that copy! I'll be 75 in Oct. I think at some point, the difference in age becomes irrelevant. We're just real darn old! Thanks for replying. Hope you're doing well Sir. Ed
I think it would be cool!!! As an aside, this fellow came up with a method to make stockless guns work really well. He really likes the Mossberg Aftershock. FWIW.
I had Dave Lauck (dlsports.com) install one on a Glock 21. He did a great job and it worked well, but I ultimately removed it. Like HardToHandle, I prefer the SCD from Langdon Tactical. The thumb safety is not crisp or on/off like a 1911. I found when shooting that if my thumbs got a little too...
A friend bought one to carry while elk and moose hunting. I shot it with Underwood 250's at 1250 and it was useable. However, with less than 1000 rounds, he noted a scratch on the cylinder and frame. Wasn't a scratch but cracks. Sent it to S&W and they returned it saying not fixable. He called...
I wonder how well the new 6.8 will work on body armor? Here is a very non-scientific test that's pretty interesting with 50 BMG. Also, Black Hills has a 110 TSX at 3000 from a 16" .308 barrel. FWIW, DVC
